Cochise County Government Targets Bible College for Renting to Minuteman Project Volunteers
email | 14 April 2005 | Russ Dove

MMP Director Jim Gilchrist has been informed that James E. Vlahovich, Director, Cochise County Planning Department has levied a fine of $750.00 per day on the The Miracle Valley Bible College in Hereford, Arizona for renting dorm rooms and campground lots to the Minuteman Project.

Isn't it bad enough that we have MALDEF, the ACLU (who are inciting problems daily), Vicente Fox, the Mayor of Douglas, Jorge Bush, Derechos Humanos, Hoover and his water barrels, anti-American politicians, the Cochise CountyBoard of Supervisors and all the rest harassing the Minuteman Project. Please overwhelm Vlahovich with your protests.

Please do two things:
1) Please contact James E. Vlahovich and share your fury with this arbitrary action against Americans exercising their First Amendment rights and the rights of Property Owners to do with their property as they please.

2) Send this message to everyone you know!

The issue is quite clearly NOT about health and safety.

This county, like most in AZ, is flooded with RV parks. The taxes and fees collected by the Country from these businesses are probably substantial.

My guess, opinion, whatever, for what it's worth, is that the County zoning regs vis-a-vis parking more than a certain number of RVs on private property are in place to protect that income.

I'm understanding the situation and I hope the College will get things in order. However, what does Cochise County feel about the people who totally ruin the environment, are they also willing to go after those people and impose fines as needed for littering our country. I seriesly doubt it.

If they are willing to fine the college and I'm not arguing that, (I just wish the college had done what was required), they should also be willing to go after those also breaking environmental laws. What the college did is greatly less than people destroying the environment.

If American's had done to the environment what the illegals have done, they would also have faced stiff penalties!

The County cannot and will not treat Reverend Harter differently than it would treat anyone else who violates the law.

Really, how about illegal aliens violating laws ?

I'm glad they rented the rooms and campgrouds. Some parts of government just don't understand. These people are doing something to defend America and some Boss Hogg government wasn't getting their cut or they would listen to the ACLU. God Bless the Bible College and the Minute Men.

I might buy into that, after the ACLU and media campgrounds get the same summons and fine.

Spiff, It might be good idea to send O'Rielly an e-mail about this. It will give the Cochise County government wide national attention. In my letter I am going to mention the fact that the wife and I have traveled to Cochise County three times in the last six years and spent considerable amounts of money there. We will no longer visit a place that exhibits such un-Americanism. We will also pass the word to all our friends who also vacation there that it is not a good place for Americans to spend their money.

It's time to learn to spell *RECALL*. The people of Cocheise County must organize and get these scum out of office.

This is kind of like the "follow the money" scenario. In this case, if you stop the flow of illegal aliens and certain individuals object, then it is reasonable to assume that those may have been the people who were benefiting. It's possible that some of these "objectors" are just looking for attention (or donations). It's also possible that some of the border towns have a cottage industry of smuggling illegals into the country. Whether it's to the "coyotes", or facilitators of one sort or another it is obvious that these illegal immigrants provide much needed cash flow to the small border towns.

Bingo! IMHO, It appears that someone in the Cochise county cabal is being stung financially by the MMP and their successes.

Vlahovich sounds like this fellow:

Quisling A word Norwegians are not very proud of having given to the world: it derives from Vidkun Quisling (1887-1945), a Norwegian politician who collaborated with the Nazis during World War II. He established his name as a synonym for "traitor", someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country, especially by serving in a puppet government. Quisling was found guilty of high treason in 1945, and was executed by firing squad on the 24th October 1945.

I remember in the 1980s several Florida mayors and police chiefs and their entire families were busted for conspiracy to smuggle dope. Key West, Chockaloskee (sp?), Everglades City, etc.

Seems the temptation was very great to help the smugglers. Police would be sent to the opposite places from the smuggling operations, etc. This went on for yeas and years.

Might be nice to dig up the old Miami Herald articles, and fax them to these Quislings. Spread them all around the border.

Hmmmm, a Bible college is knowingly hosting a "substantial nuisance" or "health hazards" on their property? I don't think so. I doubt those standards even come close. Just a case of more government regulation.

What is the actual violation that they are being fined for? I read through the thread but don't see it.
