A Few Prayers for Texas Cowboy!!
The Horse's Mouth | 08-Apr-05 | Tom Eaker

Posted on 04/08/2005 4:26:16 PM PDT by Eaker

Prayers for TexasCowboy!

TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.

Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.

So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.

Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!

Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.

Star, I was just thinking (not good). Isn't it strange how two Freepers can have been here on the same site since 1998 and never really get to know each other until we end up on a prayer thread? Now I'm wondering about your "life adventure" and your move to the "city". I think we had the same emotional condition during the 2000 election. Ha. Of course I had that condition from the day of bubba's first day in office. If I hadn't found FR I don't know if I would have survived intact.

Thrilled and delighted to hear about your roll 'n stroll together, topped off with real Texas food. Sounds like a normal day in paradise, almost, if you could only be outside. And the view of the ocean! Hope you can take advantage of being able to see that view every day, TC. Some of us (ahem) would kill for an ocean view.

MOnday prayers going up for your continued recovery, restored mobility, and general great health.

Monday, Monday -- but is it a blue Monday??!

" And then there's a later version of the origin of blue Monday, this one stemming from the days of sailing ships."

"Monday - any Monday - was flogging day. Errant sailors were brought before the mast and flogged until they were black and blue."
From "Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins" by William and Mary Morris
(HarperCollins, New York, 1977, 1988)."

==================================================

So there you have it,TC -- you're safe today, as no floggings
are permitted aboard the Good Ship UCLA Med Center!

[(besides, that little fracas in Tripoli when we were sailing with ofMagog
on the Mobius was a minor dustup, and for a good cause!]
]

It's a *good* day, hearing TC is gaining ground steadily -
especially now that he's getting 'Southern Meals on Wheels' from amom!!
lolol

+ =

a remedy that will either kill yew or cure yew..:))

==================================================

-- for all our friends....

Hey, TC, when we lived in Marina del Rey, I could see your hospital from the window of my apartment.....so you can probably see my old home from your window. Look straight ahead to the ocean and then a few miles to the south and you'll see three tall round towers on the beach. Pretend I'm there and wave and I'll pretend wave back. (And everyone wonders why I miss LA.)

When you're out of that hospital and doing a little sightseeing, you might find something decent to have for lunch at one of the dozens of restaurants in Marina del Rey. In its own way, it's God's country too.

I just spoke to TC and let him know all is well on the homefront and he sounded GREAT!!

He is getting out of the hospital very soon and before we know it he will be back in Texas kicking humbelgunner's butt with his new bionic leg!

The power of prayer is working and it is indeed a fantastic thing to watch.

PS: Do NOT let him know that I am runnin' shine in his truck!! We need to keep that just between the 43,000 plus people who have viewed this thread and nobody else.

Except for the stuff humblegunner damaged and stole it went pretty smooth.

Humble, TC is going to want at least one of the plungers back. Further, granted he did have two pink fly-swatters, but they are BOTH his. He will want the one you snuck into yer truck back too.

two pink fly-swatters

A little clarification. Are these pink in color or are they to swat pink flies?

I had a dream last night, that TC was already back in Texas, and had slipped into his house before anyone in Texas knew it...

I have no idea why I dreamt that, but it was a good dream, and I hope the part about him coming home comes true, very soon...because that will mean that he's doing very well, indeed....

What would be a hoot, is if the 43,000 people you referenced could throw him a coming home party, bigger than one that President Bush would get!!!!

TC---Prayers up for you --- keep up the good work, and I know you are having to work hard right now....God is shining his light on you right now, and we are all in your corner.....

later

Well, the spread is ready for him if he does.
The Eaker team did a jam-up job.

Gotta make a statement:

My mother was a nurse...my sister is a nurse. Nurses are angels walking among us.

When you are in agony, you don't care if your nurse is pretty or not...you don't care if she is a woman or he is a man.

I am very disappointed that a small few have used this thread to make coarse jokes about nurses. It's funny to imagine TC surrounded by pretty young things (and fun for him!). It's not funny to disparage nurses' appearances.

I have had several cancer surgeries...and to me...nurses have no equal.

Just had to speak my piece. I can only imagine that TC is treasuring his nurses.

If you can't say it in thread, don't say it to me at all. amom was the one I was speaking to, and she understood the joke. If you couldn't follow along, don't flame someone. "Re: A Few Prayers for Texas Cowboy!! From paulat | 06/27/2005 8:56:30 PM EDT new My experience with nurses specifically is more of the "They should play in the NFL" type. (I ran into a nurse whose shoulders were far wider than mine! She could have given Refrigerator Perry a run for his money!) What a terrible, horrible, nasty comment! It does not belong on this thread. You are an embarrassment! Some day your life is going to be in the hands of these dedicated professionals. I hope they remember your comment." In case you didn't catch it Paula, it starts here with post 4941: Thanks for the update and ping! Hospital food was invented as a form of interrogation, especially the so-called 'jello'. Agreed, the home cooked stuff will be better for him. 4,941 posted on 06/26/2005 1:17:40 PM EDT by Darksheare (Hey troll, Sith happens.)

Always great to hear that TC continues his lightning recovery. Bionic Cowboy will be rootin' and tootin' back on the range before you know it.

TC, ask Faith to drive you home by way of the beach....you can get almost to Thousand Oaks on Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway)...you gotta do some sightseeing, cuz the guys at home are going to ask you about those postage=stamp bikinis California Girls wear and you wouldn't want to lie, would you?
