One of the key reasons I no longer call myself a Catholic. Upon leaving the Church is that when you started your alcohol and tobacco habits? Or was your thinking clouded beforehand?

There were several reasons for me leaving the Church, the most important of which is a lack of faith.
As a detached observer, even you must admit that some (though not all Catholics) tend to emphasize Mary as a co-redeemer on equal level with Jesus.

...it is so nice to see good Catholics bashing the heck out of each other...Sometimes that happens when someone says something like,
hey ignorant - I only asked a question...
To try and answer the question about praying to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God. Besides devotion to God himself, Catholics have a special affection to Mary and her Immaculate Heart. Because she was brought into the world without original sin, and she bore God's son Jesus, she is without equal among other humans. She holds such a special place as the Mother of God, and she is in the absolutely best position to intercede for us by way of prayer and devotion. That is why praying the Rosary is so important for the repose of souls including Pope John Paul II and, of course, to pray for our own salvation.

No offense taken. You are free to pursue your personal eschatology, just as the pagans, the gentiles, the polynesians, and all our bretheren are free to determine their end. This freedom does however, come with responsibility.
"The 'Catholic Church' has circled the wagons and obfuscated/hidden as in a camouflage mural the pure message of 'The Lord Jesus' amidst a very large heap of ritual, doctrines of men, exorbitant symbolism from spurious pagan influences."
Your statement is a very generalized attack that I think demonstrates an inconsistent understanding of comprehensive or catholic eschatology and scatters a common set of unfounded accusations. There is meaning in ritual and symbols. All doctrines have basis in natural law and dogmas in sacred Truth.
You see, the Good News is in the written word and the ritual and the dogma. Just as the Roman soldiers used a temporal crown of thorns to mock the eternal nature of His Kingship, so to do those who ignore His instituted sacraments mock Him by their haughty temporal boundaries that exclude His traditions.

"It is you who are losing your temper and being insulting."
Response: Never been calmer and not trying to be insulting,
but if, if you have a chip on your shoulder that is another thing (but that might be insulting, sorry).
"The assumption that you make that Catholics are "mechanically obeying" is false, we obey because it is true."
Response: Is there anything you do for others "spiritual works" (outside of the rules you follow in the Catholic Church) for Jesus, that you would consider inspired by the Holy Ghost? Something that really gets your fire, enthusiasm going for God? If there is, then I submit that, that work, is the one that gains you cudos from God not mechanically going thru rituals and obeying rules and saying required prayers. Faith without (inspired) works is dead. Ritualistic conformance is not what the apostle is referring to.
Truth is what is true in the heart, given by revelation of the Holy Ghost, not that which is artificially poured in like wet concrete into the brain and held there by threats of judgment in a lake of fire if you do not comply. "Yes, but that was not my concern in this instance." Response: You are not interested in winning a poor lost soul over to the Catholic Church on this thread? Paul the apostle said: You must be ready in season and out of season to give a reason for the hope you have in the Lord Jesus." "Yes, I have and I do as it authoritatively spoken through His Church on earth." Response: The Pope and the Cardinals and the Bishops and the Priests I take you to mean ???? How can you be sure they are inspired by the Holy Ghost ?? The best way is to check it against the Old and especially the New Testament writings by the apostles, making sure they are not adding something unnecessarily to your burden. "But if an individual even a priest/ pastor, "or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema", and I would reject it." Response: Then you must, by all means read the gospels thru and thru, from Mathew to Revelation again and again and compare it to how much the Catholic Church has added and polluted the pure gospel (simple good news of the Lord Jesus) You cannot just blindly accept more requirements for salvation beyond what even the Lord Jesus layed down for us. You and you alone will stand before the Lord at (after) your death. There will not be anyone from earth (Vatican/parish etc.) defending you with how you kept the rules of men. Simply "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved from the fires of hell and don't forget to ask Jesus to give you the Holy Ghost as well, for he who hath not the Spirit of Jesus living in them is none of His. He "Jesus gives the Holy Ghost to them who ask" I apologize if I have upset you. It is difficult to move ducks around once you think they have been properly place in their correct pigeon holes, if you get my drift ??? The fact is there are alot fewer ducks to move around when you deal with the pure gospel alone.............and do not add to it..........

"lack of faith"
Faith is a supernatural gift. Have you tried praying for faith?
"As a detached observer, even you must admit that some (though not all Catholics) tend to emphasize Mary as a co-redeemer on equal level with Jesus."
Sure, some people get it wrong, but I don't think there are many who do that.

Well your argument comes down to semantics then. The fact is SSPX Masses do not fufill Catholics' Sunday obligations.

The fact is SSPX Masses do not fufill Catholics' Sunday obligations. Well, the fact is, the Vatican says they do. Your personal and irrelevant opinion is that they don't. When you start up a church, I'll ask you what's valid in your little corner of the world. Until then, I'll have to take their word for it.

Pal,
You are one seriously lost soul. Whatever serpent has twisted around your brain and perverted your mind into thinking you actually know anything about Catholicism is obviously squeezing all the oxygen out.
You are spouting the same boring pathetic venom that the hypnotized always spew. The hypocrisy is utterly amazing. How you parrot other men's arguements.
Here's some advice: Learn something about the Catholic Church outside of your dark Master's Grimoire and come back when you can deal with something real instead of pathetically shadow boxing your own cult's myths.

if you have a chip on your shoulder that is another thing The chip I have on my shoulder is you pretending to engage in a discussion when all you really want to do is spout your false ideas about what Catholics do and believe, and then listen to yourself knock down the straw men you have created.
then I submit that,...
I submit that when you pretend to know what Catholics believe and what Catholics do, you show how ignorant you are. When you refuse to take correction, to find out what they actually do believe and practice you show that your motives are, well, less than pure.
Truth is what is true in the heart,
Do you write for Hallmark? You've got a big seller with that one.
You are not interested in winning a poor lost soul over to the Catholic Church on this thread?
If I thought that there was an ounce of sincerity in any of your questions, and that they were not just a way for you to spread your complete and utterly false understanding of the Church and its beliefs and practices perhaps, but the few exchanges we've had I think this verse reflects my most appropriate course of action:
"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you; going forth from thence, shake off the dust from your feet for a testimony to them."
Mark 6.11

I don't honestly know. Perhaps they are not sedevacantists. I was right next to one of their churches in Ridgefield, CT, for a number of years, but I confess I haven't followed them much in recent years.
