Actress Glenn Close is retiring from Hollwood-because she says she doesn't like all the glitz and glamour. The 'Fatal Attraction' star says since 9/11 her priorities have changed and made her realize what is important in life.

'I prefer smaller films now and I want to spend time with people I love. Time is the most precious thing we have. I don't really like the diamonds and glitter of show business.'

Glenn, 58, says she felt uncomfortable attending star studded bashes like the Oscars because of the pressure to look good.

I love it! Another ultra liberal bites the dust... more likely no one will hire anymore so she will 'retire.'

"I'm unemployable. The pictures haven't gotten smaller -- but the ones they offer to me sure have. I know when I'm not wanted, so I'll just disappear for a few decades. Then I'll die."

Awww, that's a shame. Why is it that these actors have to 'announce' they are retiring? Does anyone really care?

The star says since 9/11 her priorities have changed and made her realize what is important in life.'I want to spend time with people I love. Time is the most precious thing we have. - no matter who states this, it is good advice. I have always enjoyed her films, she was beautiful in The Natural

Her crowning role was in "101 Dalmations", as my personal hero, Cruella DeVille.

It was all downhill from there.

Despite the fact that it was just about the worst baseball movie ever made and totally rejected Malamud's book.

Long in the tooth and unable to meet the standards for looks, Glenn is out of here. Another body thrown away in the Hollywood liberal world.

...the pressure to look good...

Wow! Imagine what she'll look like AFTER she stops giving in the "the pressure to look good!" I'm picturing Jabba the Hut!

She just took a new role on "The Shield " ?

Maybe that's what she's referring to as a "smaller film."

Actress Glenn Close is retiring from Hollywood-because she says she doesn't like all the glitz and glamour.

Translation: "Because there isn't enough hairspray and makeup in the world for her to ever get another starring role. ;)

Translation: "Now that I've made my millions and am 58 and losing my looks and my agent's phone doesn't ring much anymore, I'll retire and make it sound like a principled stand (rejecting the "glamour and glitz") rather than a concession to the inevitable."
