If you go by their local time zone then it was still barely the day after easter. The international date line is really only useful for GMT.

Your statement was correct when you posted it. However it was before local midnight in Sumatra when this quake occured, therefore - in Sumatra - the latest temblor occured 'the day after Easter'.
