very well put, especially post #114. However, I think, in general you (along with some others) are trying to rationalize something that is beyond rationality.
Thank you, but I think the topic only seems beyond rationality given our current context.
In an earlier age, a woman who behaved the way many college women behave would starve and men who behaved the way many college men behave would be killed.
The discipline of so many over centuries built the wealth we currently enjoy, a wealth which enables this behavior.
However, this behavior undermines the family, values like fidelity and loyalty, etc. and the loss of those values will ultimately wreck the wealth we've created and the ability to indulge in this indisciplined lifestyle will disappear.
