US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)
Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro
This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.

No, M & M is a fishy case. Marshall grabed power ... What extra-constitutional remedy did he order?

It'll be a little while before my system slows down enough to let me sleep. Once I do, I think I'll sleep real well. Whew!
One down...
let's hope those ambulances that were reported to've gone to the hospice will, as soon as "W" signs, whisk her off to a real hospital...Anxious for tomorrow.
(NOW I've got to get my column written - supposed to be on editor's desk when he comes in tomorrow, but I could not pull myself away from the the TV to write. This will be a long night...)
Thank you, Father!
We may have saved our nation tonight...Now to start winning on the abortion laws --- "What ye have done to the least of these..."

Interesting, indeed.
We need to get busy focusing attention on the REST of this case -- the apparent corruption involving the attorneys, the hospice, the county, etc. When things cool down, folks will see this for what it is: a tale of corruption in which Terri is only one part.

"The Judiciary is NOT the final authority on any issue. They, like the Executive and the Legislative ARE subject to oversite."
You say that, but practically speaking, for all ostensible purposes they are. You may not like it, but that is the actuality. There are a lot of decisions I don't like that are made by the U.S. Supreme Court. On the other hand, there are a lot of decisions they make that I do like. I go back to my example of the Supreme Court stopping the ballot counting in FL by overruling the FL Supreme Court's decision, thus allowing the Presidency to go to Bush rather than Gore. You win some, you lose some.

And the legacy of Pres. George W. Bush continues. Forget party -- he is a good man. He has no need to do this on a political level. He is acting on conscience. The president is a man of character and values.

Judges tell people whome they rule against to take up the issue with their legislative representatives if the want the law changed.
Well this is EXACTLY what happened just and the founders intended.
Just as the courts are not a legislature, the legislature is not the courts.
I also think there is no way any judge can mistake legislative intent regarding food and hydration in this case.
