Some opinions come closer to the reasonable man standard than others. Your interlocutor made a rather compelling case that the guardian in question had both an inherent conflict of interest, and a manifested conflict. Thus I find his opinion the opinion of a reasonable man.

So says this near atheist, who has no moral problem with suicide, or assisted suicide, or the "murder" of folks in a demonstrably permanent vegetative state paid for by the state. But all of those opinions are not per se susceptible to the reasonable man standard, but are rather more in the nature of leaps of faith, and a priori judgments.
