I have had many spiritual battles in my life, and I know what you say is true.
When Jesus was demonstrating His abilities to cast out demons to His Disciples, He cast out the demons from the crazy man, but He admonished His followers that their only weapon against demons like this was prayer.
To be able to love the muzzies after what I have seen would be equal to Saul's ephiphany on the road to Damascus, even though I know that's the proper way, and the way Jesus would want us to follow.
As I said, may God forgive me. I'm not there yet.
Thank you for illuminating this teaching, and I promise I will work on it.
I am not there yet either, TC. Far from it. It is a painful, daily struggle.
Loving one's enemies has to be the hardest thing ever asked of Christians. I think as we learn to comprehend the love God has for us, even though we don't deserve it, then we can start to grasp the love of Jesus and His ability to forgive the unforgivable.
To accomplish this, will take nothing less than the power of God. My prayer is that we make the attempt, and leave the changing of our hearts and minds to God.
God be with all of us as we fight the evil in this world and fight for God's Truth to be revealed to all.
