Have you seen the movie Luthor with Joseph Fiennes?

That's a must see in my book.

American movies are one of this countries greatest treasures.

Maybe at one time they were, but Hollyweird is nothing but a sewer anymore.

well they are warped but I wouldn't call Clint a Hollywood guy....movies tend to run in cycles just like Lord of the Rings last year.......for instance Ray this year was a very good movie about Ray Charles and I wouldn't call Aviator that dark........

I didn't hate Mystic River, but I found the central conceit absolutely laughable (SPOILER AHEAD). That one character just happens to get killed on the same night another character kills someone for the first time in his life broke the "Aw COME ON!" meter for me. The whole thing completely fell apart in the last 20 minutes or so. That the final confrontation could have been avoided if Kevin Bacon merely called Penn on his cell and said "We have the real killer" shows how illogical the story was. I thought everyone in it BUT Penn was good, but when the story itself is so lamebrained you're kinda out of luck.

"I also thought the bush jokes were lame, but then I realized I didn't care because, Hey, we won. "

And according to a new Zogby poll, four months after the elections and Bush would still be elected.

All you need to know about Hollywood:

-Applauded Rock's "joke" that implied Bush's lies has killed a thousand soldiers for no reason, then 2 minutes later applauded Rock's comment that our soldiers are fighting for freedom;

-Applauded a tribute to Christopher Reeve, who lived for a decade with a debilitating handicap; then later applaud a movie that glorifies the killing of a handicapped person.

There were bad movies back in the Golden Age as well. They've been forgotten. There are plenty of good movies today you just have to look for them. Unfortunately most movies are aimed at teenagers.

I've seen MDB and Avaitor, and I believe that MDB was more moving and impressionable, the character studies impressive. Aside from the dark message (at the end), MDB was a superior film. Eastwood deserved the award, IMO.

At night people are afraid of different things. I kid you not, I would crap twice and die if I woke up to that (or Michael Jackson) leaning over me.

I was unaware that Zogby reported on this-four months after the election. Especially since Zogby, the once touted czar of pollsters, seemed so anti-Bush during the campaign season. Wondering if this newest poll made the MSM news> LOL!

Not True

There are plenty of fanastic movies that have come out in past several years.

Such as The Lord of The Rings trilogy.

Well, when the greatest grossing movie of perhaps all time doesn't make it to the Oscars in a heavily Jewish Academy, it does not go unnoticed.
The politics of it is undeniable.
The prejudice of it does not go unnoticed at all.
The lack of "The Passion" in nominations spoke volumes this year Torie.

Then the politics of death in Million Dollar Euthanasia getting so WELL REWARDED by the same few thousands of the Academy screams of politics, perhaps even anti-Christian bashing IMO.
Also the fact that BABY mirrors Hitler, Kevorkian and such doesn't go unnoticed.
The fact that the Academy is heavily Jewish and had to vote for Baby which mirrors negative history for them is to me odd, sick and bazaar.

The Academy is ALL politics IMO Torie, all politics.
It this year was also about ignoring the most profitable movie ever "The Passion" because the majority of Jewish elite in the Academy would not give it due nomination nods.

They practiced prejudice against life and Christianity this year IMO, quite blatantly in fact.
You may disagree with me, but I'm just looking at the facts and what happened this year.

The Academy is full of weirdos and don't reflect traditional Jews in any way IMO. They are a bunch of elite weirdos.

I wouldn't call her a comedian. I don't know what she is.

My original stark contrast comments between Johnny and the "Thing" were edited out by the little man on my left shoulder which disappointed the little man on my right shoulder whispering back into my ear.

"Ya No Major, I really liked the part about Class .vs Trash and Good .vs Evil. To bad you couldn't type what I really viewed, chickennnnn!"

That's a very vague statement.

What specific time period are you referring to ?
