I actually thought some of it was pretty funny, but then I've always liked Chris Rock.I like Chris Rock, too, and thought most of his monologue stuff tonight was pretty good, but the Bush stuff should've been blue-penciled. Not because I'm an intolerant censor, but because it was irrelevant to the show and did nothing but alienate half the audience. I'm sure he could've written some great jokes about constipation, too, but the place for them is not the Oscar telecast.
BTW, they just ran a commercial with the Kinks' "Picture Book." First good song I've heard all night.

No it lost all three it was up for. But the films that won were all very good examples of the categories. It's not the political issue some people think it is.

They had to hide the mercy killing from the public in advertising to get an audience.
They made it the feel good Rocky type movie in the ads.
Total cr@p in my opinion.
Very upsetting to me.

Didn't CRock admit he had never watched the Oscars before? He's not Hollywood and they don't have to put up with him ;) (Hence the attack on Bush to buy their love IMHO :)

Yeah, I didn't really think anything Rock said was all that funny--but at least I understood they were jokes.
Hillary Swank btw seemed very classy, grateful humble. Not bad looking to boot.
So I guess I don't hate everyone involved with this tonight.
