February 25--KAKE News has learned a "person of interest" is being questioned in connection with the BTK case.
A search of a Park City home is underway.
An FBI spokesperson in Kansas City says agents are assisting Wichita police with an investigation.
Stay with KAKE News for updates on this breaking story.
I think the fact that that page has been taken down, along with the church page, shows that all the info here on FreeRepublic is right.
No. Rader is a very common name in Kansas. This appears to be a different family in Panama City.
Dennis the Killer is married to a woman named Paula. His relatives all still live in the Wichita area.
Never mind, it got pasted here faster than I could get back to it! LOL!
and thanks to hispanarepublicana.
;) It helps to know some people n Wichita.
does dennis play music? that's what clicked w/ me and the florida place...btk was really into that old-timey Oh Death song Ralph Stanley sang in Oh, Brother
I surmissed today that the reason good old BTK stopped for a period of years was he gained a lot of weight and was out of shape....but who knows.....
So do you know if the phone booth thing is connected? Seeing as that apparently happened a few days ago, and some of the speculation on kansas.com before this even happened mentioned a uniform type thing (haven't gotten through the long thread to see if they ever figured out what color DR might have worn in his position)...if they got prints that really were him that could have helped ID him? Maybe? Probably not?
Dennis Rader's work address:
City of Park City
6110 N. Hydraulic
Address of 1977 victim:
Shirley Vian
1311 S. Hydraulic
Birthdate is March 9th, 1945.
From the profile:
- BTK was probably born between 1946 and 1952
Reading elsewhere this individual has been a suspect since the 80s. And reading that the raid was well planned in advance.
if he was, his case is similar to the Green River killer, who was a suspect early on in that investigation......

Updated 11:25 p.m.
The Wichita police briefing on the BTK investigation at 10 a.m. Saturday -- expected to be attended by "distinguished guests" Mayor Carlos Mayans, City Council members, Sedgwick County District Attorney Nola Foulston, Kansas Bureau of Investigation Director Larry Welch, the special agent in charge of the Kansas City office of the FBI and Congressman Todd Tiahrt -- will be preceded by a private briefing for some family members of the serial killer's victims.
The announcement followed a flurry of police activity in Park City.
Lord bless and keep her...
The big long thread at kansas.com had some comments from folks saying local news was saying that. trying to see if I can find it attributed to a specific station, but several locals saying it.
On Greta apparently they (I think it was the local reporter that has been one of the ones from KAKE kinda communicating with him) are saying that they've been watching this guy for a number of months.
Will go back and see if I can find more of why folks are saying this.
Was this person out of the area or in prison during the years when nothing was happening, which was another aspect of speculation from the profilers as there were periods of no BTK activity?
Where did you get your info?
