I don't think it has to do with his perception of whether Freepers like him or not. I think he mentioned the reason.
He has a discussion forum of his own and he wants people to use that instead.
Basic Capitalism 101.
You and your FR are the competition, and he was doing a promotion piece for his product.
Sort of an honor, in a way.
I signed up over at his site, just to see what they were saying, using a different name, than I do here. I just used a throw-away address site to get a name, and then was able to get an account. None of the posts are mine; because I just wanted to lurk. While lurking.........

That's called working together. The goal of FreeRepublic and their members, Sean Hannity and like-minded Hannity Forums members is essentially the same. Add to that Rush, Bill Bennett, Laura Ingraham, Hugh Hewitt, Michael Medved and so many other outstanding national and local conservative talk show hosts across this country, the blogosphere (Malkin, Powerline, etc.), Drudge, Fox News.... it's going to take a team effort by everyone in this all out war to preserve freedom and liberty in America.
