Imagine the poor bastards that get assigned to an "attack" sub named after Carter? You think the verbal abuse was bad before.

I looked at this from a different point of view. The navy is really mocking Carter by doing this. I hope that sub is the first one into every confrontation.

I want to see "the Jimmy Carter launches 100 missiles into Iran" on the nightly news one of these days. It'd be too funny.

I guess we could call it the JC, and think of someone else leading us into battle!

They named a ship after him that will remain hidden beneath the waves.

If only we could hide our ex-presidential embarassment thusly.

(I don't actually mean drown him. I just wish his ugly head with it's attached mouth would stop surfacing.)

"The Navy should be ashamed to do this, Carter is un american and a Jerk.
I want my Taxes back."

-Attack Submarine? Wouldn't it be better to name a Submit Submarine after him? Maybe a Vascillating Landing Craft? How about an Accomodating Carrier or an Ineffectual Aegis?

Yes, I heard that!

You know Wednesdays used to be a big day at the Clinton White House. Yeah, that's 'cause it was "hump day".

Anything named after "Peanuts" Carter is in the process of sinking before it ever floats.

When I think of Jimmy Carter, the words traitor and coward come to mind, not pacifist. Don't expect too many Navy personnel to trip over their own feet in signing up for duty on this tub.

IRONIC ! The peanut will always be there first. Great MOTTO. BE THERE FIRST ! ... Honestly, the crew needs our support. Let history find this ship the antithesis of its' name sake.

I know he's already got our largest (gross tonnage) Aircraft Carrier named after him, but there would be no Submarines if the only President to have won two patents had not developed a system of vents and ballast tanks that would lift grounded ships off of sandbars. Happy B'Day Abraham Lincoln!

They should have named it Desert One instead in memoriam of the men who Carter killed in his incompetence.

This ship is designed to entertain Fidel's back side. The courage, dedication to duty and deeds of the Peanut's crew will be a tribute to what that president should have been.

The boat will be OK as long as it doesn't encounter any seafaring rabbits!
LOL!

I bet he's pissed that people were actually paid to build this ship instead of volunteering their time for free.

Launch Operation Malaise!

What's the point? When the crew tries to fire a weapon, the ship will refuse and instead, demand multilateral talks...

I was wondering how many posts would go by before someone mentioned Bill Beer.
Well done!
