It's not that we're going to run out it's that the pressure from underground wells will fall so the rate at which the oil can be extracted will decline. Sure you can pump sea water into the wells but this takes quite a bit of energy. The drop in well pressure will cause production shortfalls that will slowly raise prices and cause big problems. It won't be a sudden disaster, it will gradually show up and start causing bigger and bigger problems.
Simple sucker rod requires no additional energy.
I am also working with a company in texas that has enhanced oil and gas recovery but all this assumes oil and gas does not recharge or renew themselves like all renewable resources.
Natural gas is made by mother nature hence natural gas, it makes itself. We simply cannot use it up.
Oil recharges its own fields. We have over 50 years of data showing oil as its own renewable resource wtih fields recharging.
Man, you sure have a simplistic view of oil production, don't you?
I also happen to know a bit about the oil business.
here is something to think about. What happens if you release a air bubble way down in an oil shaft?
To think that all these oil wells are pumping away creating a vaccum is kinda funny though. Stick with that.
There are still all the untapped resources in Alaska and the Beaufort Sea plus the huge oil-sands deposits in Canada and off the both east and west costs.
There are even sweet gas reserves sitting untapped under Lake Erie.
I know where my natural gas comes from and speaking of that it is time to go out and have some beer, cheese and navy bean soup for lunch!
