NEW YORK, February 4, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Last week pro-lifers reacted with disdain when Hillary Clinton belatedly attempted to modify, at least in the public eye, her militant support for abortion. She failed to impress with her sincerity when she called abortion a tragic choice for women and suggested abortifacient contraceptives as a solution. Exit polls showing voter interest in moral issues has shaken Democrat confidence in their leftist social agenda.
This week, former presidential candidate John Kerry, still calling himself a Catholic, followed the new Democratic Party policy in attempting to use pro-life language to continue pushing their agenda of unrestricted abortion. Kerry claims that the Democrats have talked about this for a long period of time.
Kerrys remarks came in an interview on NBCs Meet the Press. The discussion is not about being pro-abortion. The discussion is about how you truly value life. Valuing life is also valuing choice. Valuing life is the exception for the life of a mother or rape or incest, he said.
Can anyone make out what he is trying to say? said Samantha Singson a spokesperson for Canadas Campaign Life Coalition. These people are just proving with every word that they dont have even the concept of a moral framework. They cannot even convincingly pretend to be moral people. I think they should stop trying before they embarrass themselves further, she said.
Singson said the incident reminded her of a quote from the famed Star Trek character Mr. Spock who said, "a civilized man can pretend to be a barbarian, but no barbarian can pretend to be a civilized man.
As Michael Savage says, "Liberalism IS a mental disease."
Betcha that a nominee makes it this term. In fact, I'd say a couple of them will make it.
Why?
1. They don't want that Filibuster rule to hang on during a POSSIBLE takeover of the Senate by the Dems.
2. They can blame it on a Republican dominated Court not the Dem women's program evoking the "freedom (right)to kill" babies.....(If they're really, really, little...in fact so little, so delicate, that they require the "PROTECTION" of a mother's womb to grow.
Clinton recently proposed moderating the Democrats' position on abortion (snicker).
OTHER UPCOMING HILLARY REVISIONISMS: "I hate men who cheat on their wives" "Vast right wing conspiracy? What Vast right wing conspiracy" "Baking cookies is my fave after-work activity"
Hillary's mighty busy with her Campaign 2008 Extreme Makeover. She's got four years to make people believe she's Mother Teresa.
Let's see. After she opens a charge at Wal-Mart, enrolls in Divinity School, and gets a lifetime membership in the John Birch Society, she'll need to get a shopper's card at Sam's Club, and schedule daily morning prayer services in her Senate office.
And just to cover all bases, Bill will take an anti-adultery pledge in the vestibule of the National Cathedral, when Hillary takes her minister's vows.
Oh, and Hillary will campaign wearing the official DNC apron, and give cookie-baking demonstrations while on the stump, and pose with an aresenal of firearms while engaged in target practice.
Liberals aren't exactly original. Their emotional response to things blocks their brain from THINKING.
Just curious.
"Skerry won 10 of the 13 most heavily Catholic populated states while voting FOR partial birth abortion in the Senate. That means he had droves of Catholic votes. How sad!
One wonders if the majority of Catholics put into practice their religious beliefs..., or are CINO's themselves?"
You seem to enjoy attacking Catholics, why?
ping
Thinkspeak alert!
It is disheartening that these 'Catholics' you allude to seem to act and vote like protestants... At least the Catholics you approve of seem to post on FR...
A definite overgeneralization off the top of my head:
Most of the laity don't listen to Bishops.
Bishops don't listen to most of the laity.
Neither party listens to the Lord nearly enough.
Best I could come up with without making my head explode. Corrections/refutations welcome.
The Catholic Church
"the fullness of truth, the fullness of dysfunction(TM)"
:-)
Remember Billy Boy's "safe, legal, and rare"? Bonus question: Which was the only one of the three he actually cared about?
Jean Francois is becoming a cartoon character.
It's like watching a dancing bear. You know it's not natural for the bear so you are amazed when he tries, even if he can't master the most basic steps with any certainty.
Once again, the Republicans are about 40 years ahead of the game.
Their discovery of a "moral" imperative to cull and kill human life (in order to alleviate the overpopulation caused by "well-intentioned" vaccination and other programs), is actually the tightrope on which Dems are learning to walk these days.
If a person says,"I'm Catholic, but...(insert doctrinal disagreement here)", you have to stop and recognize that you are about to hear the words of a non-Catholic. This individual may be innocently ignorant, or intentionally disobedient, but either way, Catholic doctrine is non-negotiable. There is no such thing as being 'kind of' Catholic, despite the misguided implications of moral relativism.
What is interesting about your post is that your comments seem to indicate a measure of disappointment with Catholics. Does it bother you that lots of Protestants and Lutherans voted for Kerry? Why aren't you expressing the disappointment you feel toward the Methodists and Unitarians?
Is it possible that you expect more out of the Catholic Church? Or is it that you just don't expect as much out the non-Catholic Christian faiths? Either way, I look forward to hearing more from you.
My God it is amazing to see these libs fall all over themselves to excuse the inexcusable.
She's going to be full of hillarious suprises as she tries to morph into a centrist when we all know she is the ultimate leftist. Talk about a wolf in sheeps clothes ... .
