A green laser pointer would hurt a heck of alot worse.
It is more in tune with the part of the light spectrum in which humans see the best in.

Reminds me of a story. A friend was messing around with a bottle of saline solution and accidentally sprayed it into another friend's eye. The victim starts screaming "You got it in my eye!"
The sprayer "it's saline solution, it GOES in your eye"
