We need to pull out all the stops and press the Fla Legislature to act on Bill 701 immediately. Would you give us a bit more information on that Bill, FV? Polly
Hang on, it is not over yet! I do not understand while he extended the date but I am really happy with the extra time. I can't help but wonder what is going on behind the scenes
In the video I'm talking about Terri's father seems to be musing about that very thing -- the possibility that Terri can't respond to everything in her visual sphere because she can't see well without glasses.
"The family wanted Michael removed as guardian and they wanted testing for Terri. THEY WERE DENIED."
No wonder you are so upset. I didn't realize he denied these two important things too.
They can appeal his rulings today but the 2nd DCA always turns the Schindlers down. The US Supreme Court may be a route but that would be very fast. Governor Jeb Bush, we can keep begging him. There's some more maneuvering but Judge Greer said today "no more stays".
What is bill 701?
Try to calm down and work with what you got today.
He could have ruled that Michael could have yanked it out today, but he didn't.
Three weeks is a LONG time.
I am anxious to read the 2 1/2 page "fax" decision.
I hope somebody posts it on the internet soon.
So far I have found nothing on the internet, other than of course at Free Republic, on today's decision.
Terri's website is down because of heavy traffic...
Here is the info on the bill:

Jeesh, that liberal buzzword, "comfortable."
"Comfortable" is a perfectly lovely word when used to mean how you feel when you sit in a nice overstuffed chair with a cat on your lap.
But liberals use it this way: "If I'm not comfortable (with people praying, or saying the flag salute, or whatever), then whatever makes me un-comfortable must stop!"
But REAL discomfort -- like a baby being hacked to death in the womb, or a person being starved to death -- that's OK. Liberals are COMFORTABLE with that.
Rep. Baxley originally filed it Feb 4th. I'm surprised we haven't heard about it before. It looks like we need to concentrate on the House of Representatives.
GENERAL BILL by Baxley (CO-SPONSORS) Brown; Cannon; Flores; Lopez-Cantera; Murzin; Traviesa
Withholding or Withdrawal of Nutrition or Hydration from Incompetent Persons: Declares that an incompetent person is presumed to have directed health care providers to provide the necessary nutrition and hydration to sustain life; prohibits a court, proxy, or surrogate from withholding or withdrawing nutrition or hydration except under specified circumstances; provides that the presumption to provide nutrition and hydration is inapplicable under certain circumstances; conforms provisions to changes made by the act; declares that the act supersedes existing court orders otherwise applicable on or after the effective date of the act.

JUDGE GREER gave them until March 18th so they can prepare for Last Rites. The Court therefore, is no longer comfortable in continuing to grant stays. The respondents are going to have to demonstrate that they have merits before any more stays. Greer is following the Court's order to set a time and date for the starvation date.
But, Felos cannot appeal this date because IF GREER ISSUED A STAY, FELOS COULD HAVE APPEALED IT. So that's one good thing, the only good thing. Felos can't appeal a stay BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ONE.
The anchor guys says "we still don't know who filed the Complaint" with DCF.
What are "specified circumstances" ? Is that legalese for the presence of a "living will" ?
It is my understanding that anybody in the entire country can call DCF in Florida.
Judge Greer ordered her death in 2003 and she is still alive because people like you helped get the truth out. We need to stay the course....it isn't over.

Thanks FR_addict
I cna't believe that the reporter said that Greer gave them Until march 18th .... So that they could prepare Last Rites.... Naw nobody in the press really said that did they?
Search your memories ... do you remember the name of the lady who spoke at the hearings on Terri's Law, in tears, who said that the original intent of removing food and water was for the terminally ill, not someone in Terri's circumstance? I think, MarMema, she particularly struck you. Is she a Senator?
