"...my daughter is going to have to miss her date...."
Oh, the humanity! How old is she? Mine is 19, she came home from college for Christmas and spent the entire time "acting out" how big, bad, and grown up she is now. Ohmigoodness I hope she gets over THAT by the summer!
Well, the boyfriend (18) had to be convinced that with the wind howling fiercely, the snow blowing straight across, the visibility about 3 feet and the roads closed where we are, it just might be a good night for a date on msn.
By hook or by crook, he will be picking her up for church in the morning though! We'll see.
I can just imagine if she had been expected into school or work under the same conditions....she would have been howling louder than the wind.
The blizzard of '78 occurred on my boyfriend's (now husband's) 20th birthday. I was SUPPOSED to drive up to see him that day...my parents said "no" & I had a fit, I was 19. LOL What did I know even though the snow was blowing sideways & I couldn't see past the front door?
Oh my they're all related. My 20 year old 'grown up' lost his wallet on his way back to school after the Christmas break. Today he sends an e-mail saying he left his cell phone on his desk and when he went back to get it (15 seconds later, ahem) it was gone. Told my 'grown up' son to either begin to pin things to his clothing as I used to do with mittens or carry a purse. Don't think I'll be hearing back for a few days, LOL.
