If it is too cold to look out the window, then you can come here and find out what is happening out doors.
Stay warm and be safe.
If I have sunshine again, I will not gloat, I promise.
It got to -6 and it's now -4 and we have no water. Frozen pipes? I'm in the NY, NJ, PA area. Live close to where all 3 states meet in the Delaware River.
Feeling for you down in Texas.

The tractor is fueled, the fridge is full, we have a stack of DVDs to watch. We're set!
Used to live in Northern NJ. Yep, Nor'easters can produce mighty heavy snowfalls.
In GA now. A balmy 45 degress this AM Will have a high of 60. Regretfully it's going to go to the 20's tonight.
Stay safe, and have some good brandy.
...however a sleeping bag on my back porch would probably feel better than -11 degrees!!!
Seriously, God bless you all and take all precautions....
The last time I was in anything 'close' to a frozen tundra was Chicago in December 2000.
Ended up waiting at O'Hare 10 hours to fly outta there--watched them de-ice my plane....
...I was 'this close' to kissing the tarmac when I arrived at my very steamy, humid, hot town here in Florida :))
A few flurries are coming down here in York, PA, but the brunt is still just east of Pittsburgh.
I'm heading out in a few minutes to my 20ac garden center & nursery, down near the Md line, stock the cat up with plenty of wet/dry food and water, and will leave there after 2pm, when it's supposed to be heavily snowing.
I already have made arrangements to p/u 2 of my employees on Sunday morning, to bring in so we can begin plowing and digging the complex, out.
I'm getting too old for this crap.
Hi...SamAdams76 and All FReepers in the path of this massive Storm.
I couldn't sleep all night, the Arthritis is bothering me as the Barometric pressure and temperatures drop.
OY VEY!...It's really COLD here -1 with the Wind Chill, and No White Flufy Stuff yet.
The air is very heavy and the Birds aren't chirping as usual, they know that something Bad is coming.
Will keep you posted as the day....weekend progresses as long as we have Electricity / Power that is.
PRAYING for Everyone to Stay Warm and Safe.
GOD Bless.
PS: Please PRAY for our: State Troopers, Policemen, Firemen and EMS Rescue personnel, Hospitals and their Staff...all who are in the path of this Storm...May GOD Bless and Keep them Safe.
Amen ~ and ~ Amen.
This looks like a fun thread. The music schools are closing at 1PM today, so I will be home after that practicing...and freeping! See you then, got to get to Grand Central for now...
North-Central WV. altitude 1500', 35 degrees and light rain.
Fun day...
But if it's snowing in Pittsburg, I'll take the Pats.
;O)
22 degrees here in the capital of the Confederacy, Richmond, Virginia. The NWS is calling for up to an inch of snow today changing over to freezing rain/sleet, followed up by another inch of snow tonight. Two inches of snow and 1/4" of ice and that rates a full-on weesa-gonna-die Winter Storm Warning. Yep, we're in the South!
Nothing falling yet, but we'll have live reports as the world ends because of two inches of snow.
}:-)4
Forecast for 6-8" snow sometime today.
Hmph, it's winter.
I feel sorry for my parents. They're in Mass. and had planned on leaving Monday to drive to Florida for 6 weeks. Right now they probably wish they were already there!
Sam, thanks for starting the thread. I think we're all set here in central Jersey. Supplies are here. Shovels and ice melt inside the door. Glovies, scarves and boots on the bench. Hot cocoa and chicken noodle soup are ready in the pantry. We have karate from 12-2. Wonder if Sensei will cancel. Naaah. Being out in the snow builds character.
Stay safe and warm, everyone.
We have about 150 inches for the season and counting. The Lake Superior snow machine is cranking up to dump another 8 inches today. The snow banks are about 10 feet in height. Skiing and snowmobiling conditions are great. Starting to get cabin fever.
Spring, where are you?!?
Manasquan NJ here. Woke up an hour ago to flurries and an outside temp of 10. White stuff began sticking immediately and the folks on TV are going nuts. I'm almost embarassed for them and their absurd behavior but I guess they have to do what they have to do. I saw a report earlier that said the storm will be outta here by kickoff (3:00 pm) in Philly tomorrow and, irrelevant by the time the Pats begin their beating of the Stiller's. Enjoy!!
It's bad enough that they have cancelled sailboat racing today in Boston. First time this season.
