A 50-year-old nanny has been charged with child endangerment after she was caught on a nursery Web cam hitting and shaking the infant she was supposed to be caring for, cops said yesterday.Fook Moy of Elmhurst, Queens, was arrested after the 6-month-old's horrified mother watched Moy banging the child up and down on the floor, then placing a pillow over his head while smacking the pillow and yelling, "Stop crying! Stop crying!" cops said.
The parents, who live in Roslyn Harbor, L.I., told cops they hired Moy on Jan. 2 to cover while their regular nanny went on vacation.
Two days later, the parents found bruises on their baby's face and decided to watch the camera, which they had installed to keep track of their child's growth.

Nope not even close. Not even in a High Tax paradise like Chicago do I pay that. I would estimate that I pay 30% in taxes at worst.
"Cost of regulation" is not a tax in any case.
Exaggeration of the tax burden is not a good way to effectively argue against taxes.
Troll
OK, then after Federal income tax, state sales tax, city sales tax, gas tax, property tax, fuel tax, school tax, liquor tax, home phone tax, cell phone tax, electric tax, garbage pickup tax, vehicle tag tax, occupational license tax, water service tax, (and any others I might have missed)
What IS my tax rate?
On second thought, my apologies. I wrote too soon. Scanning through some older posts belonging to Robespierre, what I mistook for trolling was likely sarcasm without the directive. Very strange #10, however.
Again, please accept my apologies.
There was a thread a while back about the fair/flat tax, and a politico actually ADMITTED that was the combined tax rate!
Wouldn't you know, I didn't bookmark it. :(
'sok.
Some people are so happy with their taxes they justshutupandtakeit...
In some parts of the country, you still can. I'm a stay-at-home Mom and I know that there are quite a few other Freeper ladies that are as well. I'm not going to criticize working mothers in general. I know that there are situations where people have no choice and they have to work. On the other hand, I see people like my sister choosing to work when she doesn't have to because she wants to keep her large home, her Volvo, her husband's Harley and their trips to Hawaii. She also says that she would be bored by staying at home with my niece which is very sad.
Roslyn Harbor has the highest median income in the United States. Higher than Beverly Hills or Bel Air. As an aide, I attended a funeral there years ago for William Casey, the former CIA director under Reagan, at the Catholic church there. They helicoptered Reagan, Thatcher (Casey worked w Brit intel during WWII) and others. Security was incredible.
ROFLMAO! Coffee-spew alert!!
Such a system would need to be able to: (1) Have multiple cameras, (2) Be wireless, (3) Be able to record a full day as a discrete RealMedia (or mpeg) file on a PC, (4) support sound, [(5) Optional: Remote web monitoring]
Please suggest systems which would achieve this goal. All price ranges ok. Many parents here would appreciate this info. to protect their children. Thanks.
TrollCould be.
From Robespierre's profile page (post #10):
Ive been on message boards before but had accounts deleted
for speaking my mind, I wonder if it will happen here?Maybe he's looking for the ZOT???
Sniff test .....
Whoops! Accidentally took your screen name out in that post there .....
Anyone who has "Hillary 2008" as a tagline gets my attention????????
"They put in a camera to keep track of their child's growth?"
That same sentence caught my attention, too! So, just how often do these parents actually hold, care for, play with their child? Is this a sign of the "nanny state"?
Anyone who has "Hillary 2008" as a tagline gets my attention????????Oh my gosh! I missed THAT part. :^O
If you live in Texas then I would presume you pay a lesser rate than I in Chicago. I figure I pay about 30% or less. Many people claim the average is about 40% but I believe that is exaggerated. The total taxes collected by state, local and federal government is about 27% so the rate paid by an individual would be around that maybe plus or minus 5%.
It is easy to over estimate what we pay since most of us are infuriated by the bloat and waste in government.
Should you prefer figures to rhetoric you could easily look up the taxes paid each year by Americans and that figure would be about 27%. Or you could just take any wild-eyed exaggeration which strikes your fancy.
They let the tape run 45 MINUTES and did nothing to intervene???? Is there something wrong with this picture?
Woops, I re-read the article and realized that the parents had indeed watched the tape of the incident the day they found the bruises. Geez, I hope this nannie gets sent back to China. I wonder if she's got legal status in this country.
I'm afraid this nanny wouldn't have lived long enough to have been arrested.
