If you own a gun, you are totally foolish if you don't find out what your local state law provides regarding the use of deadly force in protecting your family and your property.

State law varies widely. As many posters have already noted, it's pretty much open season in Texas on perps. In other states, you have a DUTY to try to flee your own home during a nighttime home invasion before resorting to pulling the trigger. It varies that widely.

I Know you are right about that, I need to go downtown to the police station and get informed.

I have the impression here in Kentucky a person inside the home can be resisted with deadly force.
