Tourists venturing atop the Empire State Building have been disturbed to see horrible images of Sept. 11 greeting them in the gift shop. Two 9/11 tribute booklets adorn the top of the display stand, where news magazines and entertainment periodicals are stocked.
The color pictures on the covers of the booklets show the Twin Towers engulfed in flames. There are terrified people running from the scene, and one shot actually captures the second plane plowing into the South Tower.
"It's disturbing," said Alma Sanguinetti, 70, who was visiting from San Francisco.

Thanks for posting that. It is amazing how many people wish 9/11 would just go away.
3000 of our countrymen were murdered that day - it should NEVER be forgotten.

Hell yes it's disturbing. That tourist ought to try to BEGIN TO IMAGINE how disturbing it was to those who lost loved ones. This should be shown every single day. Those who don't like it don't have to look or they dont' have to buy. All they have to do is look away and keep their mouths closed while the rest of us remember!!!!!! And we will remember. We will NEVER FORGET.

Why not? What IS a good place??????????
To: kattracks
I know that is not all...
BUT ITALY HAS NOT FORGET. And we are proud to stand with you today, as friends. We are proud when our prime minister Berlusconi call your president "my friend George".
We have not forget 9/11 as we have not forget WWII.
THANKS GUYS THANKS.
I'm a proud supporter of president Bush. I'm a proud supporter of America. I don't care what they say in Europe.
After september 11 we are all Americans.
God bless you.

Ciao la sorella Ringraziarla per le sue parole gentili e sostenere! Insieme stiamo in piedi alto
I think....I hope that translates as follows: "Hello sister
Thank you for your kind words and support! Together we stand tall."

For some people (maybe the weak hearted) up there on the top floor of the ESB, that is like saying, on a crowded elevator (when it stops momentarily),
"I'll bet this thing gets stuck AGAIN! It ALWAYS gets stuck. Last time people were in here for five hours, and the lights went off at that."On the other hand, Americans can never forget the attack on them by al-Qaida. So I suppose its the flip of a coin. I'd say, leave the photo booklets up there.

show the Twin Towers engulfed in flames. There are terrified people running from the scene, and one shot actually captures the second plane plowing into the South Tower. the only thing missing is the pictures of the jumpers. That would help people understand the grim reality.

Easy there...I know. I was just shocked that the thread had gotten that far without somebody mentioning "Tourist Guy".

With all due respect & peace for those who died that day without having done anything to deserve it, that poem is an example of emotions over mind. It is no different than the sentiments of those who perpetrated the crime.
