HUNDREDS OF CARS STRANDED ON I-24
NEWS MEDIA IS REPORTING THE NATIONAL GUARD HAS BEEN CALLED OUT.
THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN CARS.
ONE STRETCH OF I-24 HAS FORTY MILES OF CARS BACKED UP.
THIS IS THE MAIN ROAD THROUGH THIS ENTIRE REGION.
News Media is having people call in from cars. Serious situation here in Western KY. Temperatures are falling into the lower teens and single digits. They are attempting to get people out.
We have 14 inches of snow. This is the most snowfall ever recorded in Paducah, KY. Drifts are up and over cars.
Never seen anything like this here.
"Yeah, but you can wear shorts and a t shirt in a hurricane!"
You can wear shorts and a t shirt in a snowstorm, too, if you want.
The people in the polar bear clubs chop holes in frozen lakes and jump in wearing their speedos. And then there are the guys who go topless at football games, but I do believe they are chemically immunized to freezing.
Nope, but I have some Rum and Eggnog... will that work? LOL
I'm not the one in Fallujah...but I believe I heard it had cooled off a bit there. Two marines killed there yesterday...not word of much yet.
I'm here in Nothern Ohio with 23 inches of snow. Neighbor just called and said Black Ice was already starting...it's gonna be bad even if the snow stops. We had snow, then rain, then snow. Parts of the highways and shoreway were shut down cause they were flooded. The snow blocked the drains...it's a mess.
..but I do believe they are chemically immunized to freezing.

No..just some guys from Indiana.
>>>>Buffalo for the Blizzard of 1977
>>Was that the one that hit Boston and DC as well? I think so.
That was the Blizzard of 78. Not nearly as bad, but pretty bad, not sure if it hit DC or not.

Well then..Merry Christmas proud Aunt. I know it's a white one. Love to you and your Nephew.
"We lived in upstate New York until I was 14 and we once had snowplow drifts above the second floor! The town made the front cover of Time magazine because of the storm. "
I grew up in Avon NY, the houses all had "doors to nowhere" on the second floor, with snow shoes on a hook.
How do I get to your house again..tee hee.
Any updates on the stranded ones? Prayers still going up.
Something similar happened here in the Raleigh area a few years ago. They predicted 3-4", we got 20", and cars were stranded on I-40 just like they are now in Kentucky, many for up to 24 hrs, if I'm not mistaken. I remember people stranded in their vehicles phoning the local TV stations and telling everybody what it was like. One out-of-stater was bitching so hard about NC, the local anchor admonished her, and basically told her it was her fault for trying to drive through a heavy snowstorm in a front-wheel drive sedan. We don't have a lot of snow equipment in this part of the state because storms like that are almost once in a lifetime.
It was thundering here awhile ago, and they say in NC, when it thunders in December you can expect snow within 2 weeks.
Shhhh! LOL I'll tell ya later, when not so many people are watching!
Funny that you have more snow than us, must be global warming...he'll make it alright, I have faith.
I know, pretty weird, eh?? This town is crippled. Even the snow plows are going off the road and getting stuff.
Dude! N.P.! LOL
OOOps!! I mean stuck.LOL
Have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.
Is snow unusual in this area? I don't remember. Here in lower Michigan we got lots of snow too.
