HAHAAHahahah... GO NAPA and SONOMA COUNTIES!!
La Boo Hoo Hoo.
Argentine wines are good.... I will not buy Frog wines. They can stick their rotting grapes where the sun don't shine.
I love to hear frogs whine.
Let them buy some cheese to go with their whine.
Couldn't happen to a nicer country. Bwa Ha Ha !!!

Well, I, for one, am all broken up over this, and I urge the French Government to provide subsidies for these Winers. That'll fix the problem in no time flat!
(heh heh)
I think I'll go my be a nice domestic vintage and celebrate this evening.l
The fact that the farmers are unionized tells us all we need to know about the state of agriculture over there.
I haven't touched French wine since I discovered the Pelee Island Winery.

I would like to lend a hand to the frogs - let's bring all of our buried hereos home from France and build a national cemetary in Kansas or Nebraska that is located in the geographic center of America so we can all visit their graves rather than leave them in "enemy" territory.
We don't leave our dead in Iraq or Afghanistan why should we leave our dead in France, of all places?
Then the French can drink even more of their filthy wine because Americans will be drinking less of it.
Now here I was having a perfectly good day and I go and read a story about french winemakers going broke and now I'm in a deep dark funk. This is soooooo sad. NOT!
The market is strong, it's the French wine that's weak!!!
Now if we could just make progress on Evian water and Michelin tires...
It's been a long time since we bought French wine and do not miss it one bit. There are other sources of very good wine. I enjoy domestic wines the best.
Try Canadian wine from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. A very conservative, "red" area of Canada politically.
Overproduction is the problem for the producers here, and we've had the same thing in WA state. I can go to the local state liquor store and pick up some Arbor Crest Cliff House Red for less than seven bucks a bottle, it goes magnificently with a steak, or any red meat-based food. Our supermarkets are offering fairly deep discounts on the retail prices of many fine wines. Oversupply is a great thing for the consumer!
