As I recall from the CBS RatherGate threads, there was quite a consensus that ol'Dan would be put out to pasture in March, for some very good reasoning. I am amazed that yet again, FR predicted the news before it actually came to pass in the Old Media.

This isn't news, this has been in the works for months.

Exactly. The way I remember hearing it, was that since Brokaw was leaving by the end of the year,
rather than having to share the accolades, Rather would do it in the Spring.

Can't have two anchors leaving at the same time now, can we?

That's not to mention the story that Rather was planning on receiving the top award at the
Washington Correspondents' Dinner from President Kerry, for the fake memo story.

Some pundit pointed out that it was more painful for Blather to report on the election results

Well...what would we expect....it took yrs for them to come out of the closet with their socialist/commie leanings so in our face and it'll take time to rid ourselves of those propaganda outlets. We're finally making huge strides...thanks to the internet...and the activism being displayed by lots and lots of republicans and/or true patriot leaning Americans.
