Are you deaf?

The arrogant judge asked her if she thought she was playing games, and the teenager stated "I THOUGHT I DID TURN IT OFF"

The exact same thing has happend to me and millions of others. Sometimes the phone doesn't go off, and actually comes back on, or the tiny little button is not fully depressed.

This teenager is NOT in the freaking military damn it, This GD arrogent tax paid judge is drunk with power. She should of had the bailiff simple take the phone.

SHeesh. This judge is clearly an assh*le!

How come I never have that problem?

Maybe the people who do have that problem would be wise to either (a) make sure the cell phone is actually turned off (it takes maybe one extra second), or (b) terminate their cell phone service, because they are too damn STUPID to use a cell phone anyway.

Comes down to a matter of credibility, I think. The teen's response sounds lame and unconvincing; I don't really believe her.

After you've been told/reminded several times, watch the display go dark when you turn off the phone. And if you still can't figure out if it's on or off, remove the battery.

No. I'm not. And my reading and comprehension skills are excellent as well. They are much more important in this medium than my hearing.

This statement "If you don't know how to shut it off, go outside and introduce it to the heel of your shoe." means that "I THOUGHT I DID TURN IT OFF" is not an acceptable excuse.

Have a nice day.

the teenager stated "I THOUGHT I DID TURN IT OFF" and the judge said, "I know you've been playing with it all morning, sayonara.".

This little twit most probably has had 10 or 11 years in our magnificent public education system and has never had it even suggested to her that her arrogance might have consequences.

Welcome to the real world, honey.

BTW, what she actually received was one night in the cooler.

Evidently, the 17 year old shouldn't have a cell phone, or maybe you either, since one or both of you don't really know how to control it. Ya think?

Joe, as usual, you're getting totally out of control.

It's plain to see what side of the line you stand on, so sit down.

Maybe you should learn to properly operate your toys before taking them into a courtroom
