Heard this on the t.v. news while on the net. So I don't have a link, source or tv station (Sorry Mr. Mod)
Speaking of bad social skills, throwing out unsubstantiated comments and pretending they are fact is not exactly the height of social adeptness....care to take a wager that he/she is the product of a government school?
All I can think of every time a lame incident like comes up is how fortunate (lucky) I was compared to kids today that I attended the schools I did, when I did. Us students back then had a blast and interacted with respect and admiration for our teachers, some even becoming long time friends into our adulthood. The teachers during my school years even into college did not ram their "personal" agenda's down our throats, they taught students, they encouraged students, like teachers are suppose to.
However, I also know some people who were going to home-school their kids, but they don't. The 2 kids just stay home with their mom, basically being truants, learning nothing.
BWHAHAHAHA!
More liberal tripe from the newest "approved" liberal troll on FR.
How many liberal positions can you take before finally being booted?
It's like a game show, "How Long can The Poser survive on FR?" Kinda like a "Survivors for losers".
Please extol the virtues of government schools as seen through the eyes of a leftist advocate.
I'm thinking a teacher/administrator in a Gov't school.
In addition, parents are also recognizing the need for improved social skills and are now joining their kids for organized field trips, joint "classes", etc.
As a college professor, I would disagree... I have seen enough failures of the homeschooled to say it isn't so... Again not in all cases, but in the vast majority!
They just don't have the skills...
I recently attended a national convention on home schooling, and the key note speaker shared a study on home schooling indicating that race, parent's level of education and financial status were not indicators of success for homeschooling families... unlike public school. The same study also found no benefit to increased state regulation on homeschooling.
Homeschoolers still do 2% better on standardized testing on average. They also fare better in many other measures of success.
My homeschooled daughter missed her debate team meeting last night, to play a game with her nationally competitive basketball team. She has a math competition this weekend with another good friend of hers. There are support groups that combine together to teach advanced highschool courses that cannot be obtained by working with local junior colleges.
The "Facts", contradict your assertions.

I agree. Parents do not subscribe to the brain-washing of the left and hence, are not qualified or to be trusted to conduct it on their own children.
Boy! You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about!
You nailed him!
Well, this is what teachers should do... I must also say that my children had such teachers...
So things are not yet as bad as some want us to believe...
I suspect you are getting the bottom of the barrell at your institution as the rest are far superior to the quality of student who attend your school.
BTTT
Our newly elected State Auditor, who is a CPA for 30 years is also not "qualified" to teach accounting in government schools because he lacks the required "certification". Yet I suspect he can teach accounting better than anyone on staff currently.
Obviously, this self-proclaimed college instructor isn't at any of the Ivy League schools that are vigorously recruiting home-schooled students. He is so out of touch.
As I said, I am in the business, downstream... So I know what I am talking about...
Skills that should have been acquired a long time ago are lacking. Things that we are not in the business of teaching at the college level. So these students fail, and in a way, it isn't their fault, but it is the fault of the program they got.
I understand that some parents don't like a lot of what is happening in public schools, but then they better fight about it. because for the vast majority of children, schools are what they need.
Of course if your problem is that you want religious indoctrination of your children, its another ballgame... And it has nothing to do with quality!
My young home-schooled children could identify you as ignorant and rude. Make you feel better?
What exactly was their reasoning for suspending her for doing a cartwheel?
