UAE: WEBSITE NUCLEAR BOMB CLAIM, ATTRIBUTED TO AL-QAEDA

Dubai, 12 Nov. (AKI) - The ability to produce and enrich uranium to make nuclear bombs is no longer the prerogative of the world's "tyrannical crusaders", a statement signed by the the al-Qaeda terror network and published on a new Islamic 'Jihad Lion's Den Forum' website claimed this week. "Our attempts to make small nuclear bombs with great potential for destruction have succeeded", said the statement, which its authors said was targeted at the American people. "Al-Qaeda will respond harshly to your refusal to heed sheikh Osama bin Laden's warning not to re-elect the foolish Bush in the presidential elections. We tell you that this refusal will bring Allah's divine wrath upon you. He will make you the the prime target of an attack that will strike at the heart of America", the statement continued.

The message begins with the 60th verse from the 'Al-Anfal' ['The Spoils of War] chapter of the Koran: "And prepare for them you Muslims all you can recruit of strength: armed forces and mounted troops to strike terror into the hearts and minds of Allah's enemy who is your enemy, and into the hearts and minds of others whom you do not know but Allah knows them. And remember that whatever you spend in divine service you shall be reimbursed and never shall you be wronged".

What the allies did in WW2 was perfectly moral. The reason we won World War 2. We fought more brutally than they did. We bombed the Germans and Japanese into submission. You don't win wars by being less nasty than your enemy. IslamiNazis won't be defeated by showing them peace signs and handing them flowers.

We joke about nuking Mecca. It doesn't seem like the moral or American thing to do. But, I wonder if we should start considering what actually would deter the extreme Muslims.

They don't care about protecting their women or children, outfitting them with suicide bombs. I assume that the US military would wipe out all military installations in the anti-American Muslim world if we are nuked. But would even that demoralize them?

If we were to level Mecca that might get their attention. It would that prove that their god is false.

This article sounds like propaganda, and it is comforting to believe that al Qaeda isn't up to building a nuke. However, we discovered plans to build nukes on their computers captured in Afghanistan. They have lots of money and contacts with Iran, NK and Pakistan. When Libya gave up their WMDs, we discovered a large underground covert nuclear weapons supply network.

The Bush admin has been warning us that the goobers could one day nuke one of our cities. It isn't so far out there.

I agree. We bombed them into submission and invaded them and defeated them every way...militarily, industrially, politically, and morally too. My original point on this thread (lost and misunderstood long ago by those who cannot read well) was that you do not win by making terroristic THREATS to bomb RELIGIOUS SITES.

You win by doing what we are doing. Actual ordnance laid onto military and terrorist installations; deposing of leaders; manhunts of the enemy leaders; killing of the enemy; and keeping the moral "high ground" in the propaganda aspect of the war.

Never THREATEN...state your POLICY....act if it is not heeded.

When your enemy does not care what you do to him because of the expected reward in the great beyond, your only possible way to win is unacceptable mass-murder, or what we are doing, i.e., changing his societies from hate-filled dictatorships to democracies so they will come into the modern world. It is called democratization. If it can be achieved, the Islamics will see that there is more to life than hating America.

This is a much longer and more difficult road to travel. It requires steadfast committment. I am not optimistic that America will stay the course on this since we have learned to avoid doing difficult things or things that take longer than a month to achieve.

What is the evidence that "democratization" can, in fact, be achieved along the lines you suggest?
