That is a great article by a rather solid Democrat.
It is refreshing to hear someone of substance speak on on their behalf.

Great article. Again, a sane dem trying to point the obvious out to the bomb-throwers in her party.

Michael Moore..........should never have been appointed Democratic ambassador to the working man........ he so strikes me as the personification of the Democratic Party, in that he so robustly refuses to hear or see so many of the people he purports to champion. What is missing from his films is precisely what is missing from the Democratic approach to the electorate: the quality of searching.......... Like the Democrats, he also seems to have missed American political life since 1980. He doesnt seem to entertain the possibility that an honest-to-God, respectable, working-class American might also be a true-blue conservative, and even have reasons for being such........Democrats are on God knows what cycle of fighting a class war that is of no interest to the class on whose behalf it is supposedly being fought. The tax cut benefits the rich, so we are going to spend yet another election blasting the tax cut for benefiting the rich, never to delve into the issue of why so many non-rich Americans so manifestly could care less. Talk about strange bedfellows. Even the most accomplished novelist could not have dreamed up the unlikely cast of characters in Dimocrats Election 2004 the production.
Arrogant Kerry, pretty-boy Edwards, goofball Terayza, 527 Soros, know-nothing Moore and the Hollyweirdos.
Made into a movie, it might be entitled, " Alien Breed."

Excellent article. If the Dems have a chance to rescue their party from the frothing-at-the-mouth crazies they'd better listen to this lady.
Bush is not an idiot. Kofi Annan is not an oracle. Michael Moore is not Everyman. Women are not ovaries with feet. And to be an American is not an embarrassment.
Just so. She'd be banned from DU.

Durkin makes some valid points, but fortunately I'm confident that the people who pull the strings in the Dem party will ignore her...like they're ignoring all the other Dems who are trying to inject sanity into the donkey party. A further problem that Durkin herself ignores is that the Dems don't have any rational programs. The eternal class-warfare-we-hate-the-rich-the-country-is-in-awful-shape shtick is ridiculous. What exactly were Kerry's plans? He didn't have any, and the ones they did have (Dean, Kucinich) were closer to Castro's than a free-marketeer.
And Durkin is herself deluded if she thinks Bush's açtions are failures. Whatever he's done that hasn't turned out real well is still far better than whatever the Dems would have done. To any sane Dems who want to steer their compatriots (or comrades) back to the center I say good luck, and don't hold your breath.

The liberal special interests of the far left have hijacked the Democrat Party in a similar fashion as the radical Islamists have hijacked the muslim relgion, both causing destructive results to their respective members.

If the RATs ever give up on gun control we are going to be in trouble. It is an issue which makes many working class Americans who would otherwise vote like their union bosses want them to, view the RATs as if they are poison.

If you were really going to kill yourself in the event that President George W. Bush got re-elected, you would have done so by now. As the saying goes, better late than never.
This leaves you, like every other loser, with two things: a bitter taste in your mouth, and a choice. You can sit around and keep telling each other how stupid and scary the winners are. Or you can put down the hemlock and the Häagen-Dazs...
...or, then again, maybe you don't have to put them down.
Michael Moore obviously left out the hemlock and doubled his dose of the Haagen-Dazs, and when that didn't work, he tried again. And again. And again, etc.

The party of F.D.R. and J.F.K. has turned itself into the political equivalent of the woman who responds to her husbands leaving her by living in her bathrobe for years: Its O.K. for her to be miserable, so long as enough people around her know that hes the bad guy. Great imagery and frightently true. I am confident though that the Democrats, whiners by nature, will not learn from this.

The article made a world of sense which means the Carvilles of the world will have none of it. Carville and Clinton's other former shoe-shine boy Begala and others of their kind will just go on making smug remarks implying that only church-going morons voted for Bush and it's up to the voters to "wise up" and join in their orgy of America-bashing rather than for them to soil their hands actually wooing voters.

Here's a little bit of reality the author better contemplate
The democrats are prisoners of the Pro Abortion--Gun Grabbin--Homosexual Pushing--Tree Worshipping--Anti Religion --Anti Military-- America is The Cause of All the World Ills --wack jobs that are the basis of the VAST majority of their $$$$$$$$$$$
They say $$$$$ is the mother's milk of politics and the democrats ain't got no other teats to feast on
No way they can shake off that Tar Baby and survive financially
