"I am one who doesn't believe that illegals are going to be rounded up and deported"

The people in this country lack the will to round up terrorists in another country, but these idiots in here think we're going to round up ten million people on our own soil.

It's not that they are idiots, it's just that they want to push in a certain direction.

What we need to get to a situation where lots more illegals are voluntarily going home than are coming. The way to do this is strengthened employer sanctions. The resulting labor stortage, would likely lead to press for more legal immigration, which is fine with me. Once people see that the problem is going in the right direction, there won't be so much push for draconian solutions.

The key is to send to prison, for short periods, people who knowingly employ illegals and/or fail to properly check paperwork.
