When Free Republic starts its own news service, sign me up as a correspondent! I bailed from working for MSM because I couldn't stand the bias.

These young men are our future. They have achieved a maturity that the self centered, feel good "me" wrapped cocoons will never achieve! God protect and bless them!

There are several, go to the FR Canteen and check in the first 10 posts or so...Tonk links to his support page that lists several ways to support the troops.
Or, check my tagline and visit us. We are supporting 20-25 Navy, Marine, Army, and Air Force units; we have contacts with the Command Chaplaincy; and we have some individuals we are supporting.

If anyone has info, addresses, etc. on how to contact or send gifts to soldiers, maybe this would be a good place to (re)post that info.
God bless our military!

I think what you're seeing is an AC-130 gunship:Maybe, but the initial burst seems way too close to the ground to be an AC-130. It's also not symmetric.

In these situations it's difficult to tell. It might be the illumination "snow" (flares) from aircraft (like a SPECTRE gunship) or it might be phosphorous. If it's the latter, it's nasty for the target. Phosphorous will burned fueled by air. Hence, water will not extinguish the acceleration. Packing mud on to the skin is pretty much the only way for an individual to control the burning. However, given the continuous aerial assault on these f^%$ers, it's "snow" to illuminate their asses. All in all, we are going to town. I only wish Taliban Lyndh were there to get some.

Check the Breaking News Sidebar for the Fallujah Live Thread Day 2.
Somebody posted links to DoD press releases. I think you can also find similar links on FReeper Ragtime Cowgirl's profile page. You want to talk about a friend of America's Armed Forces? She is fantastic...
