Central Texas howdy! ... yes, a lot of liberal anti-W stickers, Bush got the leftists all riled up by daring to wage the global war on terror.

Well it looks like Chet Edwards will squeak out a win over Arlene Wohlgemuth. He has been increasing his lead for the past two hours now. If it wasn't for McClennan County Edwards would be toast.

Of course, if Edwards wasn't an Aggie he wouldn't have pulled 50% of the vote in Brazos County.

You are quite right, and ANY AGGIE WHO VOTED FOR CHET EDWARDS JUST BECAUSE HE CLAIMS TO BE AN AGGIE OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF OR HERSELF.

After all, Aggies place the welfare of the United States over that of A&M, so putting an EXTREMELY stealthy LIBERAL who routinely flaunts the US Constitution (in direct of his oath of office) back into power would be DISHONORABLE!

Don't blame me, I voted for Wohlgemuth. Not counting the hard core lefties, most of Edwards support in B/CS came from seniors (many of whom are Aggies) who thought they were voting for a Zell Miller type Democrat.

I'm sorry, I was NOT blaming you! I was ventilating at your very true statement about the effect of Texas A&M apparent unthinking robotron effect upon the results.

(Maybe losing to Baylor lowered their testosterone levels.)

And you are again right that they DELUDE themselves that he is a Zell Miller type of Democrat when you and I both know that he is ANYTHING BUT.

In office he spends all of OUR time and money and energy solving "personal problems" like disability issues and social security issues for individual who complain to him. He never does his ONLY DUTY of passing good laws and getting rid of bad ones. He behaves as the "uber-Father" of the people he can manipulate like the old and the downtrodden and the poor and the confused...rather than behaving as a legislator. As such he is stealing our time and money by failing to discharge his office properly.

I am so sick of the guy and of having a Congressman who dishonors the Constitution and care nothing about issues that need attention, and to boot constantly supports the liberal democrat agenda.

Wohlgemuth was OK, but she was just not a strong candidate, and it is a darn shame since this is the ONE AN ONLY TIME that the NATIONAL GOP became meaningfully involved in the race. If they would have done it before we would already be rid of him.

Heard on NBC that Bush got 42% of the Hispanic vote nationwide and won a majority in Texas.

Our local precinct not far from you (just north of MoPac and 360) surprisingly went for Bush; almost all Kerry signs but who knows what the early vote was. The county wide vote turned out pretty much like I expected (56% Kerry). Foo, didn't expect anything different from the dunderheads here.

Was also terribly disappointed about light rail but heck, put it on the ballot enough times and you beat people down I guess....
