Republican turnout was either (a) atrocious or (b) low because of deliberate understaffing of heavy Republican precincts which caused long lines in the morning, thereby discouraging Republicans or (c)decreased, because of polls showing Bush would easily win.
The election day turnout in my precinct was only ~34.7%.
36% of registered Rs
34% of reg DEMs
27% of reg Ls
and 33% of reg unaffiliated
That was really poor considering the race.
