THE MAGIC NUMBER.....PENN.

Posted on 11/02/2004 7:43:01 AM PST by Bushite

I was talking to a Republican Activist/Poll analyst..and he told me that Kerry NEEDS a plurality of 300,000 or more in Philadelphia to have a CHANCE to win Pennsylvania...

He said that Republicans are watching that vote very closely because if Kerry doesn't get that number then PA WILL go BUSH.

If you have any evidence on this number or any estimates of the Turnout in Philly...please post it here.

Remember that if they call PA for Bush....the election is OVER....

Report from 15th Congressional - PA (Pat Toomey's district)--my precinct which tends GOP. 1,789 registered voters. As of 10:30 AM 580 had voted ALREADY--hubby was 580. Never saw the line so long before.

We're going to send Charley Dent - GOP - to D.C. to take over Toomey's vacated seat - bank on it

I'm local here, voted this morning in a suburb close in to Philly. Talked to the Bush/Cheney guy after voting, he wasn't too happy. Turnout in our Bolshevik-populated district was record high. Talked after that to a friend of mine who's very active in Democratic politics in the city, and who's bribing -- I mean, poll watching -- for the day, and he too said the pace of voting was record high. Plus we have good weather. I'm praying that the people out in the T have done their jobs, because the D's here certainly have. There have been people walking around downtown Philly with "honk if you support Kerry" signs for the last couple of days; their base is really wound up. OTOH, my dad (75 years old today!) voted for a Republican for President for the first time in his entire life. Old Jewish guys don't change their minds easily, and it took me and my normally liberal wife a long time, but we reeled him in. So there's definitely hope.
As I walked to my office this morning I saw an "Arab Americans for Kerry/Edwards" sign. I'm looking forward to going back later and taking it; I'm thinking of getting it framed, for my Democratic friend.

There is another thread here alleging BUSSING of VOTERS from NYC to PHILA! There is a need to post the info in case it is not a hoax. The poster didn't give any specifics, just alarmist info.

If anyone has any indication of voter fraud, Rep or Dem, not only is there a need to call the US Attorney, FBI etc.but take photos, Bus ID and License Plates, and\ as much data as possible. Also CALL FOX! Also state WHAT UIS THE ADDRESS OF THE BUS PICK UP or "delivery" if this info is for real?

If Kerry doesn't have atleast a 5% lead after the first 20% precincts reporting, he's going to lose Pennsylvania.

I remember when I lived in PA, the "conservative T" of the state (everything but the southeast and southwest corners) always came in late, meaning the Republicans would look like they were being slaughtered early, then the numbers would start to dramatically change about 10PM. I remember watching Santorum's numbers creep up the night of his first Senate win... talk about drama!

Fox news alert. PA, the number on the machines is now suppose to be the number casted on the machine previously. It has two counters, but isn't that a really low count for the previous election at total of 1500 votes on 4 machines in a democrat area. Does this mean Bush actually took PA in 2000....

If Bush wins in enough states whose total electoral votes add up to 270 or more,THIS ELECTION IS OVER.

No.. that would go back to the Dem Primary in 2004.

Dems had no major races for Primary here in 2004.

In my area New Ken, Arnold, Springdale there is a surprising amount of Bush support. In my neiborhood the Bush signs (counting only in yards) outnumber Kerry signs by at least an 8:1 margine although on my way back from voting this morning I did see a Kerry worker rounding up senior citizens outside an assisted living complex here. I feel good about Western PA in general.

"If Bush wins in enough states whose total electoral votes add up to 270 or more,THIS ELECTION IS OVER."

An absolutely brilliant conclusion. You have certainly demonstrated a scholarly grasp of the obvious.

(just havin' a little fun!)

Fox is now reporting that a DA in Philly looked at one of the machines and said that what appeared to be votes already cast in this election was in reality the total number of votes ever cast on that machine. There are 2 little windows with numbers showing on these types of machines - we have them here in WI too. So this may turn out to be just a misunderstanding.

I agree, but that's a big IF. However, IF Bush wins Florida, it's also all over for Kerry.

I heard Santorum today and he said that in the last 4 days, the Republicans have contacted over a million republican voters and had that he had never seen such a grassroots effort.

yesterday on Special Report with Brit Hume both Fred Barnes and Mort Kondracke thought that the GOP would have a better "ground game" or "GOTV" than the Dems... when asked why, they said because the Bush Campaign was in charge of all of it and that it had been tested in 2002... Mara L. thought both sides would be equally good... i believe the GOP GOTV is again going under the radar... cool!

Absolutely agreed. If Kerry comes out of Philly with less than a very very big lead, he cannot and will not win the state. Bush is going to absolutely crush and own the T.. it won't even be close, easily 55-60% or more of the vote there will be Bush. SWPA Kerry if he does win this area will not be any sizable majority. It's clearly going to be Philly that makes or breaks the state for Kerry.

Good news to hear out of New Ken!

My wife moved to Colorado the first of October to be with me. She sent off for an absentee ballot for Pennsylvania on October 10th. She received the ballot yesterday. It was postmarked October 19. On the address, the city and state had been obliterated with black crayon, the zip code had been erased with white out in two spots, taped over in another, and finally written in. I called Senator Santorums office in Pittsburgh this morning about this. They called me back and told me that if she mails the ballot today, with today postmark, that it will be valid.

That, give or take a few thousand, is what the Rats need out of Philly to win any state-wide race. It's been the case for many years. Western PA is always close between Rs & Ds, and the central part of the state is very heavy republican.

The numbers of votes in question are in the hundreds and low thousands. These machines have been around for years and years and have probably seen tens or hundreds of thousands of votes. What this "DA" said is bullcrap and spin, trying to cover up the fact that the Rat fraud machine has been caught in the act.

I agree with you about the GOP ground game - it's even evident here in MA! I've never seen so many Republican lawn signs in my life. Last night I was at a stand-out in our town center; there were about a dozen of us with Republican signs, 0 Democrat stand-outs!

Bush is going to be close in Massachusetts.

Conservatives just go out and get the job done - "under the radar". Liberals are noisy, shrill, and in-your-face, so they seem more numerous than they are.
