Just came back from voting in DuPage County, Illinois.

They have a pretty good system. The election judges have a booklet of perforated pages, one for each registered voter. These have an image of the voter's signature. You have to present ID to vote, and the election judge has to tear out your page so you can sign it, before you get your ballot.

This is the way it should work. So why do so many places have such a hard time?

I voted in Du Page, too. Western suburbs, but neither my husband or I had to show ID. There were no lines, but a very steady stream of people and it seemed like it was picking up as we were leaving about an hour ago.
