Hey, I know that corner well! I lived within blocks of there for many years. (Moved to SF in 1968, when the City was still conservative, believe it or not.) People coming off the 101 from San Francisco have to drive right by there. Some of the people calling you names and being obscene are probably even friends of mine from a past life. My dad was in San Fran in 1969 after getting out of the army. Told me it was filled with Hippie freaks back then. Conservative? Maybe in the Richmond area back then...
