I heard Rush mention this yesterday during his radio show....it gave me great reason for optimism on November 2nd....wanted to share it with some of you posters who are "the glass is half-empty" people to buck them up....

I must make one simple correction:
The governor is a RepublicanCorrection: The governor is a RINO.

Thanks.
We can be confident, but not cocky - there's a lot of work to do.
But Rush is right - Rove is no idiot, and the Republicans haven't been napping.
I wonder if the Swift Boat Vets think there is ALREADY a skunk on the top of the ticket.
The true shame is that Kerry will get any more than 20% of the vote at all . . .

I am just outside Cleveland in the heart Rat territory, we are shocked by the number of Bush signs we see. I have never seen so my republican yard signs.
I really don't think Bush will carry this county, but if republican aka Bush numbers are up like this all over the state Ohio is going to be solidly red. Again, I don't think Bush will carry this union county, but we are getting our hopes up for the overall state.

Here's the bet: John Kerry and John Edwards on Monday could resign the ticket. They could say, "You know what, we don't want this." I don't care why they resign, and Kerry would get as many votes off the ticket as he's going to get on the ticket Actually, this is the way the dems could win. The "unamed democrat" or "democrat to be named later" runs far ahead of Kerry and Bush.
I will add that I think Ohio is as close as the polls say it is. I find the Ohio women are solidly behind Bush, but the Ohio men are switching to Kerry. The women mostly have service jobs and are happy, and the men have lost their manufacturing jobs and are not happy.

Minnesota doesn't register by party.
The last two polls showed Bush up by three.
In my state senate district, we have 200+ volunteers. We're making 15,000 phone calls and dropping literature at 28,000 addresses by Monday.
And that's just in one senate district. There are 66 other senate districts in Minnesota.

Wanted me to be sure and be told that the Republican grassroots effort in Ohio is almost down to the individual voter. That the precinct captains in Republican sections of Ohio know exactly who their voters are and who they're going to vote for on a daily basis, they're in touch with them, they're going to know whether they vote or not, that the grassroots effort in Ohio.Well, I am in Ohio and my precinct captain (whoever he or she is) certainly does not know how I am going to vote because I have never been called, contacted, or otherwise and I am a Republican, although the Republicans have no way of knowing that.

Here in the Cincinnati area the African Americans have a get out the vote drive but they have that every year.
Four years ago they were busing people to the polls for Gore. I don't know how they're going to improve on that.

I think Rush is on to something.
This obviously isn't scientific, but I live and work in Columbus, and I only know about 3 or 4 people who are voting for Kerry.
Most of my friends and family are Bush voters. And I have convinced several of my co-workers to register and then committ to voting for Bush.
We're doing our part!

13% of the black vote is less than the 18% of the black vote that has been mentioned in national polls.
I suppose most of Ohio's blacks are in the inner cities, whereas in the South there still are many rural blacks.

Bush has a secret weapon in the Amish vote in both PA and Ohio. The Amish don't usually vote but are turning out big in this election because of the Gay marriage issue.

Nothing in Rush's rant about the job loss issue, I note. Kerry has been blasting Bush about it and there has been no effective response. Polling indicates that this is the dominant issue here, and Kerry is making the most of it. Almost everyone I talk to mentions it. That and Bush "lying" about WMDs, Iraq, etc. The lamebrain media and the 'Rats have done an effective job of cleansing any thought about 9/11 and the WOT from the minds of many voters here. Based on what I've seen in normally solid Republican areas in my neighborhood, Kerry has made significant inroads into normally pro-Bush support. That leads me to believe that it will be a very, very close race.
