BAD NEWS FOR BUSH! In the only presidential election years that the Sox won the series, 1912 and 1916, Democrats won the White House, Wilson in both elections.

Now I won’t sleep until Tuesday. I wish I hadn’t looked.

Think of it more like a wartime President being re-elected since the old parties don't really translate these days. Feel better now?

OK I'm gonna try to make you feel better (I will be stretching it a bit but bear with me). In 1904, even though there was no World Series, the Red Sox ended the season as champions. And Teddy R won the election and he was a Pubbie. Bad new though, in 1894 the Boston Beaneaters won the Series (yes there was a Series of sorts then , the NL vs the AA), but Grover Cleveland won the election and he was a Dem.

Thank God Wilson is not running this year! Congrats Boston on a determined drive to become World Champs!
