KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.
I sent the NYT a nice little note!
BUMP
That's what I understand. Amazing, isn't it.
Sean was brilliant. He let DeConcini and Colmes blast away, uninterrupted, for two minutes. Then he drops the bomb at the very end.
DeConcini was a little stunned. I don't think he fully understood what Sean had just told him.
The old gray whore should apologize ""
The Ol' gray whore just ain't what she used to be...
Quack! Quack! Nice L on your forehead buddy
Not the Lame Anonymous tip again, LOL
What Dumb@$$ would be stupid enough to believe that?
Oh Yeah the John-John's BWHAHAHAHAHA
I think the NAMED reporter embedded with the 101st Airborne WITH their film footage is going to be a helluva lot more credible.
Yes I'm sure that L is SEARED into your head for eternity :)
Nor should we, Lou Dobbs was horrible to Peggy Noonan about this tonite, and headline news is STILL REPORTING IT, albeit with the date, but no info saying it was gone already.
Not to mention, news radio ALL DAY.
Bastards.
God help us.
I missed Sean tonight...at emergency room with kid...what happened on his show...? and has Lawrence O'Donnell been fired yet?????
A few weeks ago, shortly after Rathergate, O'Reilly had a guest (I forget who it was) and they were discussing Dan Rather. Bill made the comment that the higher ups at Fox had sent a memo, that in light of the Rather controversy, they were supposed to be "more fair and balanced". A lot of FReepers have commented that since then, there has been a discernable change at Fox.
Because NBC has proven itself to be the 'Rats' free advertising and propaganda network.
In a shameless attempt to cover up its failure to secure 380 tons of highly explosive material in Iraq, the White House is desperately flailing in an effort to escape blame.
Oh, dear. Joe doesn't understand there was nothing to secure, does he. Or is he lying. How to decide, how to decide....Gosh, having mulled it over, I think he's just flat out lying.
LOL!
Professional liars. And that's what they'll be to the bitter end.
Rush had this one right out of the box. Drudge was slow on this one.
It's in his pact with satan... he must show allegence to the one more evil than hitlery!
LLS
Someone stop him before he chickens out of facing the music! LOL
Off topic but Condi now on CSPAN
