Following Millar's lead, Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling went on ESPN yesterday and described Rodriguez' actions as "bush league," adding that such a thing was "not nexpected."

Supposedly, Schilling corrected the "bush league" reference abd said "Kerry league." But, not according to this story (unless there is more to it).

He said it plain as day and I might add that the interviewees actually brought it up before hand and then when they asked Curt if it was bushleague, he corrected them saying it was kerryleague.

I hated what Rodriquez did. It was out and out cheating. I wondered if anyone was going to get him on this. I am glad they did. If I ever had a reason to want teh Sox to win, that was it....
One of the announcers was idiotic enough to say, "Hey...I can't blame him...if he got away with it it was the right move.." Unbelievable...they ought to take the announcer down...much like Boston's own Curt Gowdy was taken down after belittling Cincinnati as a cow-town after the Reds beat his Sox back in 1975...

Obviously, which is why it was funny that Schilling said "no, it was a Kerry-league play." It was funny and "punny" at the same time.

Bush league in baseball speak does refer to minor league play and if ARod had just run Arroyo over instead of veering right he wouldn't be hearing this crap.

There's some funny history associated with that term.
The Boston Braves moved to Milwaukee 1953 & they became the Milwaukee Braves.
By '57, they were playing in the World Series against the mighty New York Yankees. So rabid were Milwaukee fans, they even greeted the Yankees once the New Yorkers hit town. "Bush league" is how the city boys responded to the excitable Milwaukee fans. The series went seven games but Milwaukee prevailed and the headlines next day would read "Bushville Wins!".
