Let me explain to you how the gov't school system works. You pay for gov't schools through your property taxes and your children are assigned to a gov't school unless you can afford to homeschool or pay twice for your child's education by sending them to a private school.
Like most people, they didn't have much of a choice.
My years of detention in the gov't schools were easily the worst of my life. Fortunately, as an adult, I am able to keep my children out by homeschooling. Unfortunately, I'm forced to pay for the perpetuation of this diabolical system.
Yes, I said diabolical. It's the only way to describe a system that strips parents of their natural function as a child's primary educators.
You comment's regarding Mrs. Bush's "pro-abortion" stance are going totally over my head as I've never heard any such thing. Additionally that has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, so I suggest you DROP it.
Someone had mentioned her as a paragon of virtue or womanhood or teacherhood or something.
"I had forgotten that Mrs. Bush had worked as a school teacher and librarian, and there couldn't be a more important job than teaching our children. As someone who has been both a full time mom and full time in workforce, I know we all have valuable experiences that shape who we are. I appreciate and honor Mrs. Bush's service to the country as First Lady, and am sincerely sorry I had not remembered her important work in the past."
I moved to provide my child with an education in a good school system.
I have always defended homeschoolers - but it is people like you that give homeschoolers a bad name with your tunnel vision of that being the ONLY possibility.
Get over it. And don't bother responding.
