After-debate discussion here!
"MSNBC is calling it for Edwards, 3 to 1."
Get Out!
Scarborough just used "GRAVITAS" in a sentence.
Chrissy sez Breck looked slapped.
I thought it was great that Cheney didn't always take the opportunity for a 30-second reply. It makes it seem like he knows something and doesn't feel like sharing right now. It makes him seem mysterious...
Mary Jane Cahill, who used to be Kerry's campaign manager, but who's now in charge of raising money to pay for recounts...on Fox, unable to answer why Edwards rarely showed up in the senate. Instead said she'd been there a lot and never had seen Cheney, but she had trouble getting that lie out of her mouth and it showed.
HF
You know what is surprising? the Hardball crew on PMSNBC has a FAR more accurate understanding than the Fox "All Stars" of just how bad Edwards lost.
I can't stand CeCe Connelly on FOX - why do they have her?
Hint: It's just a debate... not election nite.
What are you talking about?
Even Chris Matthews is saying it was a blowout!
He opened this hour by saying Cheney was like a bear hunting a squirrel!
He said Edwards' reaction shots looked like someone who had been slapped repeatedly!
Here is the web-site that Cheney referred to in the Halliburton slap-down.

Have to agree that comment about meeting edwards for the first time when he walked on the stage will go down in history as a classic!!!!
I remember when clinton was running against dole. All the right wingers were loading the polls--they found comfort in rigging a poll to say they were going to win. The loser has more motivation to spend time on rigging polls. I know I was one of the fools that voted several times for Dole. But I've not yet completed an online poll this election cycle (that I can remember). However, I did complete a zogby poll when they called me :-)
Tonight's debate was equivalent to Cheney putting Edwards over his knees and giving him a good ass-whipping. I am so proud of Cheney right now. I knew he would mop the floor with Edwards.
That cracked me up too. He would come down to the warm glow of the television set, his Dad watching math on Sesame street. Its the modern, electronic version of the pioneer's hearth.
I had to laugh at Edward's plan to control legal costs by having lawyers police themselves. Talk about the fox guarding the hen house. I've seen how badly a lawyer has to screw up to get a serious sanction by the bar committees. Are they really going to cut off all frivolous suits and kick a lawyer out after three? No way!
The only comment I have is on the issue of a 'Divided Country'. Bush needs to prepare an answer along the lines of, "years of liberal judges" .. "making laws the public disagrees with" .."gay marriage, etc" .. that's what's diving this country ...
I almost felt sorry for Eddie when he mentioned Kerry twice when he wasn't supposed to. He wasn't even answering the original question. He was on total defense from Cheney's reponse. I couldn't bare to watch that segment. How embarrassing.
Thanks for the compliment! :) I did not see all of it, but I think that Cheney carried it. I thought that Edwards looks a little bit like a court jester (that grin! yikes!)- he was too informal and although Mort Kondrake is now saying that Cheney sounded "old", I think it has to do with intelligence and seriousness. This is not a laughing matter and I think that Edwards laughing and looking like a goof when he made the mistakes about mentioning John Kerry's name in that one question did not put him in a good light. I don't want a goofball a "heartbeat away."
Cheney might be dry, but he's extremely smart and I think that came across tonight- Edwards looked like a smarmy trial lawyer, talking around the questions.
We are post 9/11. Pretty boys are no longer going to be able to enamor soccer moms that have turned into security moms. Who is going to hunt down the terrorists and kick their A? Not goofball boy.
And I'd still like to know how Edwards pulled out a Cleveland statistic out of nowhere.
WOO HOO GO BUSH!
