"Go to Hell Traitors!" DC Chapter Defends Arlington Cemetery 10/2/04
Self | October 2, 2004 | Sauropod

Posted on 10/02/2004 5:59:56 PM PDT by sauropod

By my count, we had 21 FReepers and lurkers man the lines today defending the honor of Arlington National Cemetery. Many passersby gave us the "thumbs up" and several folks thanked us for being out giving our opinion of this blood dance. Honor Roll for today's FReep: Kristinn, tgslTakoma, hoodlum91, 3D-JOY, Sauropod, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, 3 lurkers, DonSimmons, LiveFreeorDie, BufordP, RaceBannon, Doctor Raoul, Cobol2Java, LandryFan, and BillF.

When you arrive at the Arlington National Cemetary Visitor Center, this is the sign you see:

I'm going to show you some pictures of what went on today and you can decide if the Left obeyed that sign or not.

We set up on Memorial drive immediately before the bridge. There was some last minute preparations that we had to do.

kristinn and bufordP making signs

Kristinn makes sign.

Our MOAB under construction:

Not too long after, Jimmy Valentine's Brother showed up. He immediately appropriated one of the signs I had brought with me (made by hellinahandcart) and held onto it all day.

Jimmy Valentine's Brother

Here is a close-up of the sign.

BufordP (who can't resist giving advice to people) gives directions to the Leftists

Message for Medea Benjawoman.

This was a good sign as well.

To our troops!

Osama's best friends:

LandryFan held another one of hellinahandcart's signs:

FReeper BillF arrived with his homemade sign:

About this time, a holier than thou peace protestor attempted to engage us in conversation. JVB got quite irate at her and asked her when she was going to get outraged at all of the beheadings taking place. BufordP started to try and reason with her but it was no use. Finally, she gave up and started heading toward where the rest of the unwashed rabble were swarming. Buford kept trying though, talking to her as she walked away. (Misogynist!)

Here's where she went:

Race Bannon and Doctor Raoul arrived around this time.

The good Doctor was in fine form and was prepared to do a multimedia FReep.

We met a couple who were passersby (they hadn't heard of Free Republic). They told us they were so disgusted with what they saw up at the Women's memorial, they just had to come by and hold a sign.

Luke the bicycle bisexual showed up. I had stepped across the street to take a picture or two. He started yelling something about the "curse of Fallujah" would be upon us. I asked him, "How did it feel to be supporting terrorists?" He said, "They're not terrorists."

Back in January 2003, we ran into Luke at a D.A.W.N. protest at the Lincoln Memorial. He insisted on making a big deal about his bisexuality (too much information - I didn't ask). We see him at many protests in the DeeCee area on his little pedal pusher. He seems to get more belligerent at each one.

When we got everyone in place, we started forming the FREepline:

And again.

One more time.

And what would a FReep be without a MOAB?

The Desecrators started to move. Make sure to pick up your trash before you go.

First Coffin Arrives

End the war

The left is full of antisemites. Here's proof.

The "mourners".

More "mourners."

Somebody's proud to be a peacenick:

Power to the people or white power? You decide.

More coffins

Oh look! They've laid a rose on the coffin. How touching.

That coffin sure is gettin' heavy!

Answer and Nader signs were in the march.

Here's somebody in uniform doing what he shouldn't:

Now I have a question for FReepers. This looks to me like somebody on active duty. I cropped out his picture from the high-res photo I took. Is this a current uniform?

Leftists being leftists, use whomever they can to "get their point across." Now they've got the kids in the act (he's holding up the banner).

First wave hits the bridge. On to the White House!

End of the march. They're crossing the bridge. The cop is relieved.

Kristinn gives rare interview.

Lunch after freepin'

FReepers went to Arlington National Cemetery to point out that these anti-war protesters were desecrating hallowed ground.

That's why I love to wear my cowboy boots and one of my husband's stetsons to Freeps. I do the western shirt and belt with appropriate buckle too. I love making a statement after all the fun made of Bush being a cowboy. My husband was a real cowboy and a career soldier. He was one of the good guys. I can say that I'm sure he would've loved the DC Freepers today. Way to go!!!!!

Interesting, thanks for your post.

So how about skerry wearing the uniform in his protest activities? If Navy regs are similar to Army regs, he most certainly broke a number of these -- not that he cares, or that his disrespect is anything new to us, or of meaning to the MSM or willful idiots.

You are right, I think I was reading the dress uniform reg. This is the most convoluted reg Ive ever seen. I always go by that old poster when I need to know something specific-it covers all the highlights.

I never noticed. But his "reporting for duty" salute at the dnc convention was for crap--his wrist was bent, his thumb and fingers were not "smartly alligned", and you could see the palm of his hand.

- a bit-o-trivia for those of you who may not know- We are the only country, or atleast major country, in the world who does not show the palm of our hand when we salute because to do so would symbolize that we have lost a war in our history.
Kerry, I think, means to change that.

(1) In connection with the furtherance of any political or commercial interests, or when engaged in off-duty civilian employment. (2) When participating in public speeches, interviews, picket lines, marches, rallies, or public demonstrations, except as authorized by competent authority. (3) When attending any meeting or event that is a function of, or is sponsored by, an extremist organization. (4) When wearing the uniform would bring discredit upon the Army. (5) When specifically prohibited by Army regulations.

Him wearing the uniform, even in the right context and right manner, would "bring discredit upon" the Navy.

I am angry that those filthy creeps would defile the memory of all the brave men & women laid to rest at Arligton Cemetery. How dare they!

Thank you for FReeping them.

I'm retired Navy, with combat action in special warfare in Beirut, Grenada and the first Gulf War. When I die, I'm to be cremated and interred at Arlington.

Thanks for being there for the honored dead. I can't decide if those folks are just monumentally naive or are suffering from self-hatred at being American.

The guy with the sand cammies doesn't have complete battle-dress. Most likely some twidget who picked it up at a surplus store. He's wearing the wrong subdued Captain's bars, too. Another fool, sadly. Hey....maybe he's one of John Kerry's new "winter soldiers"?
