By my count, we had 21 FReepers and lurkers man the lines today defending the honor of Arlington National Cemetery. Many passersby gave us the "thumbs up" and several folks thanked us for being out giving our opinion of this blood dance. We set up on Memorial drive immediately before the bridge. There was some last minute preparations that we had to do.

About this time, a holier than thou peace protestor attempted to engage us in conversation. JVB got quite irate at her and asked her when she was going to get outraged at all of the beheadings taking place. BufordP started to try and reason with her but it was no use. Finally, she gave up and started heading toward where the rest of the unwashed rabble were swarming. Buford kept trying though, talking to her as she walked away. (Misogynist!)

We met a couple who were passersby (they hadn't heard of Free Republic). They told us they were so disgusted with what they saw up at the Women's memorial, they just had to come by and hold a sign.
Luke the bicycle bisexual showed up. I had stepped across the street to take a picture or two. He started yelling something about the "curse of Fallujah" would be upon us. I asked him, "How did it feel to be supporting terrorists?" He said, "They're not terrorists."
Back in January 2003, we ran into Luke at a D.A.W.N. protest at the Lincoln Memorial. He insisted on making a big deal about his bisexuality (too much information - I didn't ask). We see him at many protests in the DeeCee area on his little pedal pusher. He seems to get more belligerent at each one.

You are right. The location of this protest was WRONG! The three of us with Veteran family members buried there felt very strongly about that. I think we managed to make our point to the press during interviews.

I dont know if anyone answered this question yet, but that uniform that that guy has on has the American flag on the sleeve, an addition as of the beginning of this year, so the uniform is RECENT. As far as current, He has captains bars and a goatee, so I am assuming he got it from his brother or at a thrift or Army Navy store. An officer with a 24th Inf. Div. combat patch would know better thatn to be out in partial uniform, with a baseball hat, facial hair, his sleeve roll all jacked up, and participating in a political action. ALL of those are expressly against
AR670-1 (Wear and Appearance of the Uniform).

I was given a rose that fell from a "casket" today. After the group disbanded I took it to my husband's gravesite.
