I agree with you about Knob Creek. I also agree with the article. Maker's Mark is my staple stock.

Weaker Jack Daniel's Gets Sober Reception How nice. Jack Daniel's has become a Metro-whisky.
We'll have to start calling it "Jill Daniel's".

The company says the switch was made because most customers prefer the less potent mix

Well, I'm with the fellow in the article.
I switched to Makers Mark years ago. No comparison in the quality of the whisky, MM is still a good old-fashioned bourbon.
Jack has gone downmarket, and I'm not following him there. As one of Kipling's characters said about another fellow in a short story, "No more he isn't [a drinking man] but what he takes he likes good. He won't tech no publican's hogwash acrost the bar. Four shillin's he paid for that bottle o' whisky."

Well, crud. That just makes me mad.
I'd switch over to Wild Turkey with its 101 proof if I were a JD drinker.
Fortunately, I'm a Maker's Mark man, so no change necessary.

"I've switched to Maker's Mark since," he said. "I used to drink a bottle a week. Some of our board members drink three bottles a week..."Is this company hiring? Sombody send me an application.

Since I haven't drank in years.....I did not even know that the black Jack was not still 90 proof. Back then they had green label Jack at 80 proof and it was more watery tasting. Now the old Jack is the same as the old green label.
Idiots....Maker's Mark was always better anyhow but Black Jack has a big following especially amongst the Harley crowd .
I wonder what Keith thinks?

40 vs. 43? Oh come on...who really notices that subtle difference after 2 or 3 drinks?

So ol' Black Jack waters his whiskey, eh? Whatta suprise. I never liked that sour stuff anyway. However, I did laugh when I read about Modern Drunkard magazine.

This is booze not soda pop. I don't get this at all. What's next a low-carb whiskey?

. . . but Jack Daniel's said any savings were canceled by the expense of having to change its labels. Riiight.

I read a Keith interview a few years back where he said "Nah, I don't take drugs anymore. ....just my
daily bottle of J.D. and a few doobs."
I'm partial to Old Grand Dad "114 barrel proof."
