Your going to need to excuse my ignorance on this subject but how does working the polls help stop absentee voter fraud?

How can an absentee ballot be challenged at the polling place?

What information needs to be available to the challenger to determine that an absentee ballot may be fraudulent?

With states that do not require any form of ID (all of them I think) and that have same day registration (Wisconsin for example) how do we challenge or even know to challenge a fraudulent voter without doing the "homework" beforehand?

Can you provide (or point me in the direction of) information that would conclusively state that is legal/illegal to parse voter rolls over the Internet for people not in the state or locality?

The campaign is conducting trainings for the Final 72 Hour GOTV that includes training for poll watchers. The trainings are not all at the same time around the state and ours for the SW haven't been announced yet( the POTUS is in WI a lot and our few staffers get pulled to the rally venue when he is here). I am told we have our own contingent of lawyers versed in election law on call for the poll watchers, if necessary.

I have discussed the absentee problems with the paid staffers here. I agree they are prone to fraud. The staffers do not think so and assure me that the absentee votes are counted correctly. Both of the paid staff I discussed this with have worked the Milwaukee polls as poll watchers and saw nothing fraudulent. I have to take their word for it.

I would also inquire from the campaign/GOP if it is possible to be appointed or hired temporarily (if one has the time available) to work in the clerk's office. Over here, it is the township clerks who handle the absentee ballots. In my county, several of these clerks are GOPers. The ones I have spoken with and my own experience in absentee voting in the past were reassuring as to honesty, but I am in a rural area and we all mostly know each other, so there is less opportunity for fraud.

There are also people who work the polls each election. The Election Board or the campaign will know how to apply for these positions. I can tell you that when I raised the question of fraud locally with some of the older folks who have worked the polls all their adult lives (not just in my county, either), they were emphatic in asserting that they do everything above board. These were all Republicans, BTW.

If we are all pro-active, informed and involved, the chances for fraud are lessened. JMO.

Check your own registration. Have anyone you know do the same. Check for the address, spellings, DOB,signature accuracy. Here, we have to show ID when we 1st register and if we move or change our name. We sign in at the polls. AFAIK, this sign-in is checked against the registrations.
