My mom, who makes sure to catch all of Kerry's speeches on C-span (her stomach is tougher than mine) says that every time she sees Teresa, the SS is leading her around like she is in a daze, and sometimes she will break free and they have to go get her. Mom says she has seen this many times and truly believes she is in a constant state of inebriation

Someone theorized on another post that "T" truly hates the campaign grind and does not at all look forward to the possibility of living in the White House. She's used to coming and goind as she pleases, doing what she wants and when she wants, and the WH ritual would be like a prison for her. Whether this is true, and whether it has led to self-medication via drugs or booze, is not known.
