Of the Navy? No way.
Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. The Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) is the senior enlisted person in the Navy. The MCPON serves as the senior enlisted leader of the Navy, and as an advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations and to the Chief of Naval Personnel in matters dealing with enlisted personnel and their families.
You sure you heard him right? There's only been a handful of MCPON's over the years. Here's a list. There's 10.
He's not listed as MCPON. He gave his rank as MACM. Both are E-9. There are several othe E-9 master chief designations. MACM is going to be one per ship. There have obviously been hundreds.
No, that part is not a problem.
I think he said he was "A" master chief petty officer, not "THE" Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (known as MCPON). There are LOTS of master chiefs. Most commands have several of them.
Checked out your list...just an observation. None of them look like they would change their name to Ahmad Majied
I only wrote down three phrases, one of the them, the most Im most confident in is Master Chief Petty office[er].
I "may" be mistaken, but hes not one of those 10. I grew up in Texas, and he sounded southern African American. In a scale of 1-10 in that regard, he was a 6 or 7. He was someone almost anyone would like.
