Last time I talked to the owner she was still running and almost 200,000 miles. 1996 Firebird (nice driving car) 130,000 miles and 26 mpg. A new vett will run a 140mph and get over 30 mpg. All the above cars can be repaired in the backwoods of Mississippi by a 16 year old at 2:00 in the morning.

Alternator cost on Ford or Chevy ave. less than 30.00 at any parts store. Toyota alternator cost is 150.00-300.00 has to be purchased at a Toyota dealer. Toyota motors cannot be rebuilt to spec. When they wear out your whole car is gone. You can buy a BRAND NEW motor for Ford or Chevy for 599.00 at a parts store less than a major tune up on a Toyota.
